Hi, Suman! But velocity will not be constant all the way of molecules (or ions with particular M to Z ratio). Or you mean that velocity appears after some acceleration way and after this way velocity is constant? Where is the "S" on the drawing?

I was wondering the same, but I think It is not. D is the distance that the ions flight from one side to the other of the chamber, S is the distance between the cathode and the anode, despite he doesn't mention these things, I believe that is
