When Schott Free ran into Raekwon on the Staten Island Ferry the day after the “C.R.E.A.M.” recording session, he had a dead serious message for the Chef: “You know you made a classic last night?”
Raekwon’s response: priceless.

Why the fuck am I getting so emotional to this? Sometimes I don't realize how much the Wu has affected my life when I first heard them at 17 and now I'm 40 and the nostalgia can sometimes be emotionally overwhelming.

Just yesterday, I listened to "Triumph", and just the intro to that song took me back to the day I first got the "Forever" album. I can't remember if my sister got it for me, but I remembered visiting her and having that album. And her, me as a teen and the Wu-Tang Clan all collided in the moment I heard ODB R.I.P in the beginning of "Triumph". Remember the days. R.I.P. Tennille ☝🏽🙄🙏🏽

Absolutely dope. Really enjoying all of the perspectives, as I time warp and reflect on how my crew & I felt when I broke them in my area. Just the moment in time when Wu broke through was unreal. I was already open off of the Genius. I remember thinking, damn how many snipers could there possibly be???... It was like how Agent Smith kept multiplying, but on a welcomed Super Hero level. One of, if not THE illest samples in hip-hop history!!! So fortunate to have experienced hip-hop in 90s. To know release dates. To actually have to physically go to the record store and buy the cassette, see the cover, read the credits. Walking around with the walkman pumping that shit CONSTANTLY....no greater time in hip-hop imo
