I had already come to terms with the thinking that we were going to start the season slowly and hope upon hope that things would get better later. Unless we are about to announce 6 new high quality (relatively speaking) experienced players very shortly, then I fear the worst. Then again, it was only 2 weeks ago that I was asking people to be patient and not to panic. I can't even try and learn and watch the bloody cricket without them doing my head in against Monaco. I found it strange that when we were both in the running for winning EPL 2 Division 2 and then the play offs all the talk was of gaining promotion back to Division 2, there was no mention of any changes. Then suddenly Spurs get relegated from Division 1 and changes come to pass. I wonder if it had been Wolves or West Ham that got that relegation spot if there would have been a change. I seem to remember a few years when Man U got relegated there were some angry noises coming out of the top clubs about their academies losing places in the top flight. Maybe if it had been Chelsea instead of us that got relegated the changes would have come in last year. I find it amazing that we get some fans condemning those that have jumped ship to go out on loan and not been willing to fight to get us back up, even though they had poor seasons last year. But then when some players are not leaving and are willing to stay to try and get us back they get condemned for staying. We need to remember that most clubs keep their targets very close to their chests and we very often don't know about a transfer until just before it happens or on the day of the signing. We simply don't know if other clubs have made bids and the club have said the money offered isn't enough or the player is not for sale. The one time when players are linked to moves is usually when the club trying to buy don't want to pay the fee and leak a rumour in an attempt to unsettle a player into forcing a move. Just think about de Jong last season when Man U were not willing to pay what Barcelona wanted so we heard weeks of supposed offers.

Bamford is a Farke favourite and will be the starter . Mateo Joseph like many youngsters under Farke will only get time when Bamford is injured. We couldn't get rid of Bamford even if we wanted to as nobody wants him at the wages he would want to leave Leeds. So having said that I hope against hope Bamford has a good season

Not convinced by Darlow. 32 years old. Been at NewCastle for 9 seasons. 140 total appearances including all loans over 9 years. Basically he has only played 3 seasons worth of matches in 9 seasons. And if the fee is 6 million that would be a massive fee for a 32 year old unproven player. I am not a Meslier fan but between Darlow and Meslier can’t say its an improvement

The rules for EPL 2 are like the rules for Numberwang! Christ. On the transfer front, it's ridiculous that the season starts ahead of the window closing. It puts us in a Catch 22 situation. We have no idea who's in and who's out and our best players could all be gone by September with no possibility of replacing them. But in the meantime, without sales, we have no money to buy anyone. Absolutely absurd. The way I'm looking at this coming season, we have to keep Sinisterra and of course I'd love to see Adams and wee Willy stay. Take those three out of the equation and we're looking like a mid-table squad who, very quickly, will need to dip into the U21s to bolster the squad. Rutter is totally unproved in English football and Joseph is still a kid. Where are the goals coming from?
