They really really need to spot putting the filament holder in the back. That must be one of those " lets make something retarded" moments from them... And they had the Flashforge 4 Adventurer example with a nice side mount with could be kept dry by the printers heat
@JJShankles10 ай бұрын
A simple side or top mounted filament holder would make this a much easier printer to use!
@DaDuckman0510 ай бұрын
Ive got the smaller x plus 3. I feed every filament out of a dry box set to the side of the printer with bowden tube running into the filament sensor. The easiest way I have found to change filament is to pop the bowden tube out of the hot end before heating it up and pull a little extra slack through so you can grab it to pull out the filament once you heat the hot end up. then feed the new filament all the way through the bowden, stick it in the extruder and load the new filament in. No messing around behind the printer that way.
@JJShankles10 ай бұрын
That is a great idea to just set the dry box to the side of the printer. Still more difficult than some other printers, but for the high temperature filaments then it could be worth it!

I have 3 Bambu printers and 6 ams units and it’s tuff to beat the quality and speed of the Bambu printers, I got the K1 Max thinking Creality stepped their game up it’s been a nightmare to get it to print ok. I just got the Qidi XMax3 and I’m loving it thus far. I put about 7 hours with PLA and now I have changed over to ASA and it prints very well, not Bambu quality but it’s closer then the K1 Max for sure.
@juliusvalentinas7 ай бұрын
You mean bambu without heated chamber that goes to 50c max, will print asa, pc, nylon better then max3? This must be a joke
@rickybobbyracing91067 ай бұрын
@@juliusvalentinas I think you're putting words in OP's mouth. Think generally speaking max3 isn't quite where bambu is. Probably speaking more to PLA and PETG. But you're point is true, max3 can do soo much more, which is why I might buy one soon. Very interested.
@rickybobbyracing91067 ай бұрын
Thank you for this comment, I am toying with bambu and max3. I really want the larger size, and strong filament options, so to hear the max3 is better than current creality offerings is huge for me. I might get a max3 three now.
@mikemarucci9137 ай бұрын
@@rickybobbyracing9106 I have about 200 hours on the X Max3 now and it’s been flawless. I wish i would have gotten it instead of the K1 max first so I don’t have to look at it. But then some people say they have good k1 max’s that print perfect out of the box. That is not my experience with the k1 max. I had to do a lot to get acceptable prints

@@mikemarucci913my k1 max worked OK for 4 days then dug holes in the print bed damaging the nozzle, hot end and then threw codes which point to a dead main board. I really wanted to like the K1 max but it's going back. I think I will try the qidi next as bamboo is just too much cost here in Australia.

creality support is known to be pretty terrible, so I'm not going to deal with those guys and the Bambu looks great, but the mandatory cloud stuff is a deal breaker for me. That means this looks like the next best thing, however I'm willing to go up to $1500 or even $2k if I can get something very reliable that will print engineering grade plastics. With that in mind does your recommendation change? Or still Qidi X-Max 3?

For those higher temp filaments this is a great machine. I was super impressed with how easy it was to print without worrying about warping. I haven't tried anything above this one price or feature wise, but this one is built solidly.

@@TMS5100I read that the X1E will have the same build size. True? Also, there is a larger bambu printer in the pipeline, the X1L. Have you read or heard any release date predictions? I think I'm going to impatiently wait for a Big Bambu.
@DannyThompson547 ай бұрын
I have been 3D printing for over 10 years, starting with Wanhao Duplicator dual extruder. Now in my more advanced years I'm looking for more ease of use, up to date automation, particularly auto-Z tech. My search is (was) settling down to the Bambu X1C or the Flashforge 5M Pro (yes, i know the downside!). But today, I become aware of this Qidi X Max 3 and I've gone weak at the knees, despite the couple of downsides. I can work out something to solve the rear loading I'm sure. But a huge part of me really does NOT want to persist with bits of paper or feeler guage to set Z0! I'm considerably impressed with the Qidi customer support as everything i read about it is highly complimentary. I really could have done with not discovering this days before making up my mind and placing an order for one of the others. 😂
@RohanAirsoft6 ай бұрын
Which one did you go for? I was comparing the same models as you alongside the P1S and Qidi XMax 3 is appealing for the open source Klipper but I’m similarly dismayed by the paper z0.
@DannyThompson546 ай бұрын
@@RohanAirsoft In a moment of weakness 😇 I pulled the trigger on the Flashforge 5M Pro and am not disappointed. A week on and it has lived up to expectation. That said, I'm not out of the woods yet. I've one more machine to refresh and it looks like I'm leaning to the Bambu P1S. Before I make any final decision, I only last week became aware of the new just about to release Creality K1 C (for Carbon). I need to see practical reviews on that late arrival. So P1S or K1 C.

it is a ok printer, but no were near as good as a bambu. I have two bambu x1c's and I own the X max 3 here. had my max for 2 weeks and it died on me because the USB c cable they use on the hot end is not designed for high temp printing ( ABS of all things ) but they were amazing on sending me all the upgraded parts to replace the current hot end model ( new hot end has extra two fans ) if you don't need the volumne, get a x1c without the AMS it's just far superior.@@rache5399

@@CleetusVanDamme530 It comes with a round filament case that you put desiccant in it. Its not a dryer just something to hold the spool. It has a flat bottom and a bowden tube. I just received mine 2 days ago and I am begging to regret my decision to get it. Was very excited waiting for it to show up and couldn't wait to unbox it. It has turned into a 1000 dollar paper weight that could have been avoided if somewhere I had been instructed never to update it. After plugging in my camera, Fluidd notified me for updates to Klipper, Fluidd, and Moonraker and of course I clicked on update all. Very bad decision cause printer does not work now and been waiting for 2 days on replay from Qidi support only thing I've got back so far is we need proof of purchase and you are not suppose to update anything due to their modified versions of firmware and software that works only with this printer. I did not get to print anything yet, but hopefully once I get help from them in the near future fingers cross it will work great cause I would hate to send it back and get a bambu :( without even seeing for myself what it can do.
