In most songs, the chorus and pre-chorus generally use the same lyrics each time, so the verse is your chance to get your message across. It might be helpful to split the story you want to tell in two and think about how the second verse can build on the first. Some songwriters use the second verse as an opportunity to change or subvert the meaning of the chorus, or even the entire song with different lyrics. It’s a chance to be creative and explore the different emotions you’re trying to bring out in your listener.

Good tutorial. Didn't we missed the step of adjusting the final level. For example, you might need to boost final limiter if you mix is kinda low in volume?

You can compare verses to stanzas in poems. Musically, they are repetitive but each verse has different lyrics that move the story along.

This is where we get down to business and find out what the story is about. It’s the “Once upon a time …” section. Generally, there are multiple verses in a song, and they usually have different lyrics even though the melody will likely be the same. We get more information about the story with each additional verse. Considering that most commercial songs are between 3 and 4 minutes long, many people ask how many lines should be in the verse of the song. A good rule of thumb is to keep the song verses under 1 minute, or just a few lines.

Verse does have the story details like verse 1 set up the story aka set up the scene while verse 2 basically continue the story aka conflict and resolution and while the bridge is basically the climax of your song 🎵 aka story. And chorus is the hook which is true. Verse does basically have the story details when listening 👂 to a studio album 💿 like newsboys not ashamed and the whole entire album 💿 when looking at the front and back album 💿 it becomes one big huge story. Usually the songs on an album are the result of an artist's creations during a season of life. This means the songs can all speak to a similar set of themes, ideas and topics. So the aim of an album name is to try and sum up the big story/concept that all the songs pull from when they were written. It's not always like these, especially today. But traditionally, an album is like a "book" with the songs inside being like "chapters." Fun stuff! (I think 🤓) To me, it does still count as one whole story, even if there's no segue between tracks. I think it's just an artistic choice to use segues. I think even if the songs start and stop on their own, they can still point back to the big theme of the album 👍 100%, every song calls for its own structure- most of the time that means shifting around the "traditional arrangements." Part of what makes writing so fun! Totally agree. Most of the time our intuition takes over and we don't even think about the terms of the sections we're writing. That's the best! And structure is absolutely a tool for furthering and supporting the story & concept 👍 You nailed it! This kind of "segue" thing happens at the mastering stage of an album... typically the engineer masters all the songs together and then splits the songs up into their own tracks. This way the whole album could play like "one long song" with about the same audio levels between each song. That's why sometimes you'll hear the end of a song at the beginning of another. Hope this helps!

Like the beginning of a film or novel, a song introduction should catch the listener’s attention. However, it should do this without overwhelming them. For this reason, song intros are typically slower and more low-key. The goal is to establish the rhythm, tempo, and melody of the song, and introduce the singer or singers’ voices.

The verse of a song is a chance to tell a story. Lyrically speaking, this is where the story actually develops and advances.

What sky jordxn said about song structure was that you basically wanna progress through the song 🎵 so your first verse should tell one part of the story while the second verse of the story then the second verse should progress it. Aka continue the story but what sky jordxn said he would definitely agree with you about is every song tells a story but he would add on what you said for song structure was that, push the song forward push the story which is exactly true.

If I can dry/wet the compressor why would I benefit from a return? send different amounts to each track? and if thats why then would you group tracks and send the amount to group e.g. drum group or vox group??
@LNADoesAudioStuff
@LNADoesAudioStuff Жыл бұрын
That is exactly why. But reasons on why to use groups or returns depends... and the artistic preference. Just options for different approaches for compression. :)

This is the . This part . This part is either the falling action or the resolution of the story. An outro becomes a falling action if the outro is a repetitive chorus or bridge. An outro is considered a resolution if it is an instrumental outro. The verse is what establishes the theme of the song, or tells the story. A song usually has at least two verses; the verses can have the same melody, but different lyrics. However, if you want some variation, you can also change the melody up a bit for the verses.

Designed to give the listeners information in the story. Typically includes some who, what, where, how, why type of information. Moves the story along. The meat of your song.

Putting the sections together in a song is partly about running the ‘story’ of the song in a logical order. There is a famous saying, ‘Every song has a story.’ Now that you understand each parts of a song, it’s time that you make a sequence of your song structure. There are many patterns of sequences composers use for their songs. Some are odd-sounding and peculiar in terms of counting and flow, but it depends on the creativity of the composer on how to express the story of their song.

And also do you agree with LNA Does Audio Stuff and Nathan Eswine and also Jonathan Byrd all about song structure?

Remember, composing a song is like writing a narrative story. You must consider how your lyrics would work and how it will tell the story of your composition to your listeners. Otherwise, your listeners will not get the meaning or emotion of your song. That’s the storyline aka the plot of your story aka your song 🎵 🎧 🎶.
