This game aged like fine wine. W for Techland for giving 5 years of support to this game and DL2 in the future

This game is probably my only game that i have never thought of getting rid of it because it wil no matter how much time away will always pull me back to it

Been playing the Switch version and absolutely loving it. While I normally don’t go for this type of game the world and gameplay have been a blast especially the traversal. Normally I’d be all for having fast travel after a certain point (like FarCry) but I like the immersion it brings. I have to plan my routes, especially if I want to risk the night so I know I have a safe house to bolt to. I also love that Techland is very supportive of their games so I plan to grab DL2 for the PlayStation eventually.

Yes you absolutely should! Bought the definitive edition of Dying light (has every dlc etc). The story is amazing, missions are hard in the beginning, everyone is scared of Volatiles. I've never been so scared, amused, sad & hyped up about a game story in my life. Only issue I have is, it can be confusing how to make a weapon, especially when you have all the dlcs. Takes some time to figure it out. I loved it. Last mission with Rais, its hard!!

The hospital volatile thing happened to me I was trying to cheese them by shooting their kneecaps off but one jumped through the door luckily I had a lot of shotgun shells so I had Swiss cheese

Literally before the video even ended I went on GameStop and got a pre-owned copy for $8 that I'm going to pick up as soon as I'm off work and I'm so excited!

Never played the first one but watching this video after playing dying light 2 with my friends i can’t help but think that this one looks more gritty and realistic and the fact that there are guns too makes it seem way cooler

YES!!! So much better than the 2nd game. Had DL2 for about a month and just couldn't get on with it.added lots of unnecessary things like getting ill wen its dark and no stamina unless you have boosters.christ my guy couldn't even climb up this windmill to open up a safe house.unkikely ill go back again,playing the original again now and I still love it.

It’s a good game and all, but the amount of times Kyle failed to grab a ledge when I KNOW I was pressing the jump button really bothered me. Late in the game you get a grappling hook so you can basically skip climbing a building, you just grapple up to the top and climb the top ledge. But sometimes, you grapple up to the top, then Kyle refuses to grab onto the ledge and then just falls back to the bottom of the building, sometimes killing you. Or even really simple stuff, like you’re standing behind a van just frantically pressing the jump button and Kyle just rubs up against it until you just give up and go around (remember there are zombies, this is why you’re frantically trying and failing to climb what’s really a small obstacle) And sometimes I’d see a car/van/body of water/trash pile (it’s this games way of negating fall damage) I’d jump to it and miss. Maybe that’s just me being bad, but I got frustrated with it more than a couple times. There’s also this part where you have to climb the interior of a bridge, you get to parts where you’re hanging off of a wall, and you have to turn and jump to a platform: Kyle, more than once, jumped clear OVER the platform and died. I’ve never hung off a wall and jumped backwards before, but it seems like Kyle can gain like 3 meters of vertical height, jumping backwards off a wall. There were other times too, where way too many zombies would keep spawning. To the point where it was just annoying/tedious rather than any kind of fun. You expect it to be a lot of zombies in the apocalypse, but video games are meant to be fun? No? There’s a trains station, and the derelict husk of the old terminal was still home to a bunch of baggage and what not (and thus loot, for me, the player) so I enter the terminal and find about 6-7 zombies. Like I said, you expect it to be a lot in the zombie apocalypse. But I’d take care of them, and then begin looting, only to be interrupted by another 6-7 about 2 seconds into it. Repeat this about 4 times, and I was for sure sick of that particular gameplay loop. There’s also a quest where a guy wants you to get him a handgun. I had 2 in my inventory, and one was a special gun that you get from later in the game. Because of how crafting works, if you want to use a base weapon to craft a new weapon, and more than one option is available, the game will prompt you to see which weapon you choose to dismantle to make the new one. Because that’s how that worked, I assumed I would’ve been prompted to ask which pistol I could give to Mr. NPC, but no, the game just took my special pistol, and left the ordinary one in my inventory, then auto-saved. Lesson learned, put special stuff in your safehouse storage inventory. Oh, and do you like Skyrim’s lockpicking, because it’s literally the same thing in this game. You’ll encounter a locked door, and then behind it 4 chests that are also locked. There’s no reason to lock the chests behind a locked door, because; You don’t get xp from lockpicking, you just get whatever’s behind the lock, so late game, you just straight up ignore locked chests because it’s not even worth the time to open it. I swear, I was angry with this game for like half the time I spent playing it. But I still wanted to beat it, and it does still manage to have a very satisfying gameplay loop. I’ve never felt so positively about a game that angered me so often, I think it is very good overall despite all of my knit picks. TLDR: This game was frustrating VERY OFTEN. Still rewarding enough that I wanted to finish it though, and the good outweighed the bad by a mile.

I played it again like a year ago or so, it's a great game and holds up so well and then messed with some mods after completion fuck I think I'ma play it again for the next few days till 2 comes out. P.s. tho I think the DLC wasn't that great, it just felt it pushed guns a bit more in the DLC to me and I felt the games gunplay was kinda poor.

I recommend Dead Island too, amazing game from the same company. It is basically Dying Light but more RPGish and without parkour. It has more weapons, skill trees, more varied blueprints, more playable characters each one with it's own specialization, and has more maps (and some of them bigger) too...the jungle map is fucking amazing to explore

I never played DL1 and recently bought the complete PS4 edition to play on my PS5. I was really let down that the game was running at 30fps and I put the game away, not giving it a real chance. Might boot it up again because people are really digging it for some reason.

There are some ugly flaws & things that don’t work in certain cracks of the game, (I.e. some of the side-challenges feel half-baked and either a breeze or outright awful to play), but the core gameplay, the selling point of the game, is well worth it. Especially on sale. You can tell this was a game with hard work put into it, even if it’s a little grimey with little bite-marks on the edges.

The one thing I wish it had was fast travel between the 2 towns I hate the sewers I always get lost and it’s just a pain to go between the 2

hey can you try Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice? it has addicting combat and some stealth elements as well as being developed by Fromsoft (dark souls, bloodborne) Its quite difficult but its one of my favourite games.
