How was hair not a correct response to gray hair!? And Bill's right...Lasagna is a type of pasta as well.. Two missed points for sure for this guy! Wonder if that means he'll be one of those contestants they bring back?

Richard was so out of it this week that the contestants stopped picking him. I'm guessing this is when the producers started noticing him checking out at times and eventually ended up offering him out of his contract. Sad, because he was great!

It's about TIME they caught on to saint Richard!! He was AWFUL at this game, and the contestant's didn't even care!! I've seen it more than once; saint Richard gives the WOST answer of the 3 (as even indicated by the audience), and they still choose him SOLELY because he was saint Richard

H/H match update: ... ~~~Today's action: In the final moment's of "yesterday's" program, our champion is defeated after winning two games and $1,200. Yesterday's villainess? Sarah and her "Teeth." Maybe she didn't get the memo listing all the "given" MG answers: Bionic Woman questions generally call for Boobs... (The champion needed to match all six celebs just to achieve a tie, and I often wonder if this weighed on the celebs at all, in the sense that if they choose an answer different from the one(s) they see around them, they know they're automatically sending the champion home. If I were on the panel, I'd be looking at everyone else's card that I could see in order to follow suit. Would that be cheating? No, I don't think so, as it's been long established that the panel confers and shares answers to regular questions, audience match suggestions, and even head-to-head questions.) So we begin today with the new champion's first Super-Match. *Today's audience match question: "Dress________"* (My thoughts: For Success, Shirt, Blues, and maybe Up) The celebs: Richard (Shop), "Chuck"! (Rehearsal), Betty (Up) The choice: Shop (the audience boos) The answers: Up, Rehearsal, Code ...and another dreaded Audience Match fail. This was the first since 1195, and 1186 and 1183 before that. Everyone always seems so shocked when Richard gives a bad answer. It must be a case of selective memory, because it's hardly unusual for Richard to offer a suggestion that doesn't appear on the audience match board. Here are the times just since episode 900 when he's been called on FIRST and gave a bum answer: Episodes 901, 902, 906, 911, 914, 921, 923, 927, 949, 975, 977, 978, 980, 981, 989, 997, 1004, 1005, 1013, 1040, 1077, 1079, 1086, 1089, 1104, 1106, 1111, 1114, 1115, 1122, 1124, 1137, 1141, 1151, 1157, 1161, 1165, 1176, 1182, 1186, 1192, 1203. Note: this isn't a knock on Richard, more of a knock on everyone (including Gene in the past) who keeps saying that Richard is the best and he's always right, etc., which I think leads some contestants astray, today being a case in point. Well, I guess it is a knock on Richard in part, because so often in the past, he's chided contestants for choosing someone else's suggestion: "Why didn't you trust me, darling? We would've been playing for $5,000 now." ~~~Since there's no H/H question today, in honor of Bill Daily, here's the list of celebs with exactly 2 matches (in alphabetical order): Each celebrity's total number of weeks on "Match Game '7x" along with his/her first and last appearance is indicated, and an asterisk before their name indicates they've "retired" from MG, and their H/H stats are now complete.) (*)Charlie Brill 2 out of 3 attempts (66.7%) - (3 weeks total. First week: 281-285; Final week: 426-430) Bill Daily 2 out of 3 (66.7%) - (15 weeks total. First week: 101-105; Final week: 1451-1455) (*)Ann Elder 2 out of 3 (66.7%) - (10 weeks total. First week: 51-55; Final week: 491-495) (*)Stu Gilliam 2 out of 5 (40%) - (2 weeks total. First week: 41-45; Final week: 51-55) (*)George Kennedy 2 out of 2 (100%) - (5 weeks total. First week: 666-670; Final week: 1166-1170) Jack Klugman 2 out of 5 (40%) - (5 weeks total. First week: 1-5; Final week: 1321-1325) (*)Trish Stewart 2 out of 2 (100%) - (5 weeks total. First week: 206-210; Final week: 996-1000) ~~~Finally, here's our standing leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 matches in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 matches in 7 attempts). Betty - 48.7% (19 matches in 39 attempts). Charles - 48.6% (34 matches in 70 attempts). Fannie - 48.5% (16 matches in 33 attempts). (*)Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 matches in 18 attempts). Richard - 42.4% (356 matches in 839 attempts). Brett - 42.3% (30 matches in 71 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 matches in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1203, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. *Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. Note: There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036.)

Boy were those two players idiots. And you gotta love how people choose Richard's answer in the audience match, even if it gets no applause and is terrible, just because they think he's "always right". He's not. You go with the answer that gets the most applause. Richard was in a surly mood this whole week of shows.
