I grew up listening to heavy rock/metal, then in 2018 I first heard of Dimash. In 2019 I flew from Amsterdam to New York to see him live. The show he put on just blew me away. I'd never heard a voice like his in my life, When he did his version of Diva Dance (from the 5th element movie) I was hooked. Like you said, it's not the sort of music I ever listened to, but he changed that for me. If you can, check out "Diva dance" and have your mind blown.

That, my friend, is your introduction to the most technically skilled singer alive today. He has a massive fan base worldwide, people fly in from up to 60 different countries for his large concerts. He is less well known in the west than he should be because he is an independent artist who will not sign with commercial labels. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! You don't have to like Dimash Qudaibergen (aka Dinmuhammed Qanatuly Qudaibergen), but you do have to know him. The human voice covers eight octaves, and Dimash can master seven of them. He just can't do the deepest one. Higher than the eighth octave is also possible, but the human ear can no longer tell the tones apart and only hears a whistle. He sings here in French because the song comes from the French musical Starmania. Dimash himself comes from Kazakhstan, south of Russia, in Central Asia. The state was formerly part of the Soviet Union. It is sparsely populated and mainly exports raw materials of all kinds. Like many countries in this region, the past is glorious, the present is rather sad. Dimash's parents are professional musicians, he himself studied singing and composition. He became internationally known primarily through his performances at Chinese competitions in 2017. His repertoire is as extensive as his voice. First his name is said like your channel name dee-mosh, no mashed potatoes. Second although Dimash doesn't do screamo type music, he does sing various genres and in various languages, this one was French. And if you grab a video from his channel, there are CCs for the songs, sometimes not for the chatter before/after performance. The digital show was done during the pandemic, when large groups of people were not allowed to be together, but Dimash wanted to perform and help out some charities. If you noticed, in the beginning there was a charity logo on the screen. Part of proceeds went to food banks.

This kid has, without a doubt the most amazing talent, the biggest heart, the hardest work ethic, and probably the largest worldwide fan base ever (and I've lived through The Beatles, Elvis, Queen, etc). Once you become a Dear (his name for his fans) you're a Dear for life and part of a truly awe-inspiring and diverse group of people.
