Absolutely 😅 Germans need a clear concept and a precise strategy for basically ANYthing. I'm being perceived as awfully rude for being 10 to 15 minutes late so often (I'm from Germany, but have Polish roots). Everybody REALLY thinks that I plan this upfront, that I am doing it on purpose in order to hurt and disrespect them or being manipulative (!). I'm just more disorganized in contrast to most Germans, DAMMIT!! 😂😂😂
@Anil18834
@Anil18834 7 ай бұрын
Hahaha! You should see Germans living in Colombia. They learn to talk with strangers on the line at the supermarket, to kiss everyone hello even if they've just met them, to go to a country house to do NOTHING over the weekend, to get to places 5 minutes late and know they'll have to wait. It's a rough adjustment, but they get to a compromise after 7 years.😂

In Dutch, your crotch is called your kruis. It means cross, because of the seams in your trousers making a cross. So, cross and crotch are both called kruis. One day, a teacher in our classroom had received a Jesus-necklace in the mail from some Evangelic-promoting-peeps that wanted to give everyone a rosearynecklace and she wore it. But she was a bigbellied and bigbreasted woman and Jesus kept falling in between her breasts and sinking lower, until fully swallowed by them. So, she asked the neighbour if she could have her roseary and brought it to school the next day, putting them together and making a long, very long necklace that fit over her breasts and hung a bit below her bellybutton. Another teacher helped her with some extra clips, thereby making it even longer and at some point, when she tried showing it off (and noticed it was too long) the other teacher asked what was hanging from the necklace. "Jesus hanging on the cross", she answered. The other teacher replied; 'He's hanging on the cross alright...' and pointed at Jesus dangling right in front of her ladyparts. The teacher exclaimed; 'Oh no, it was the tits yesterday and now Jesus on the cross!' and they both got such a giggling attack that it didn't stop for half an hour. I don't know why they were teachers, because we learned jackshit from those two, but I think of the story whenever I see a roseary-necklace.

Regarding fettuccine Alfredo, it WAS invented in Italy at a restaurant in Rome, but it's still very much not a thing in the country and has since become an American thing. Modern fettuccine Alfredo was invented by Alfredo Di Lelio. In 1892, Alfredo Di Lelio began to work in a restaurant that was located in Piazza Rosa and run by his mother Angelina. Di Lelio invented "fettuccine al triplo burro" (later named "fettuccine all'Alfredo" or "fettuccine Alfredo") in 1907 or 1908 in an effort to entice his wife, Ines, to eat after giving birth to their first child Armando. Alfredo added extra butter or "triplo burro" to the fettuccine when mixing it together for her. Piazza Rosa disappeared in 1910 following the construction of the Galleria Colonna/Sordi, and the restaurant was forced to close. Di Lelio later opened his own restaurant, Alfredo alla Scrofa (which still exists today), then called "Alfredo", in 1914 on the via della Scrofa in central Rome. The dish gained popularity in the US when two American actors (Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford) visited the restaurant while on their honeymoon in 1920.

Kudos for speaking other languages! Knowing about the cultures of other countries gives you the advantage of throwing shade where it hurts and they appreciate it. It says a lot when people from other countries come to see you. You managed to unify this crowd through knowing other languages and found a way to make it work. You ARE cultured by opening up and giving other languages a chance. "A different language is a different vision of life”, as fellow Italian Federico Fellini once said. As for hottest languages, Spanish is definitely up there. It is related to Italian and French after all. Find the right Spanish-speaking person with the right accent and it's all over.

Matteo? Your assessment of the german people is 100% on point. Sometimes i wake up at night, and wander onto the Autobahn, only to measure if the spaces between the white guidelines are consistant in lengh or not. My clock adjusts its own time according to my poop schedule. We invented the checkered quad paper, but quickly abandoned it again, because it was too chaotic for us. Our foreplay is an half hour of terms of service pages read out loud.

Not to mention, the ones that want me to thank them for 'saving them' and then they get upset when I point out that was Canada (thankyou Canada!) If any American are reading this; Send your friendly ones! I bet they exist and I want to meet one. The Germans I've met so far were very friendly btw. I feel like Matteo is the kind that really works better with a smaller audience. It wouldn't work as well with like 200 people in attendance, having a conversation with a couple people in front. But for sure, if I ever go back to new york, I'll try and catch him performing!

Though this comes with the benefit of the metro having pretty good cuisine. When I was living in Jersey City, whenever I walked to elementary school, my mom and I would chat with an old and friendly guy who lived across the street from the school originally from Palermo. He'd take his Pomeranian out for a walk in the morning and the dog was always excited to see us. An Italian, with a Polish/German dog, living in the US...Mr. Worldwide.

If it helps lol, my first language is French and I still had one lady at an information kiosk in Paris not understand me (or pretend not to, still unsure). I'll grant that strong rural Québec accents can be a bit hard - I only ever understood about a quarter of what my great uncle would say to me (for the rest, I'd smile and nod and hope he wasn't telling me someone died) - but my accent's nowhere near that strong.
@Libellulaire

@@aepigeons9375 Québec accent can be very difficult to understand. I don't know how strong yours are, but I met up with a friend I had met online, and I had to focus SO HARD to understand her when she was speaking it was crazy. She had a very thick accent and spoke very fast, it was honestly pain. I had no problems understand our other Québec friends though. As for how French react to others speaking their language... I think we just don't care. As in "it's not a big deal that someone has learnt another language," but I'm not sure why. When I think about it, it IS a big deal. But I don't know, languages aren't something we compliment on for some reason. It's always a cool thing for sure, but nothing insane. I think if people want to impress French they'll have to talk to them about what truly matters to them: food and alcohol. French people brighten up so much when you show them you know all kinds of cheeses, dishes and such, I have no idea why. Everybody's so obsessed with food. And for the ones who drink alcohol, they're always impressed and happy when someone's drinking well with them.
