I always loved Matthew Perry . My daughter and I always made sure we got together to watch Friends even after the show was over. He was always my favorite friend . I'm just heartbroken over his death. I saw in an article about how they referred to him as Matty and he loved Batman which made me cry thinking of my own son Matthew who we lost to Cancer at 32. He was also loved Bateman. I still have his Batman and the Batmobile. We always used to call him Matty as well. My heart and my prayers go out to his family and all his friends. We will never stop watching you Matthew Perry on Friends and in all your shows and Movies. My favorite was Fools Rush in. RIP you sweet wonderful man. 😔💔🙏🙏🙏💙❤️💕😇

My heart broke when I saw he had pass. Matthew Perry is one of my favorite actors. I watch friends several times a day I just loved all of them together. I’m so thankful he was there for the reunion because that was awesome. I feel like I’ve lost a personal friend. God bless his family.💔😢🙏✝️

So sad, he was truly a comedic genius, gone way too soon. 😔 It’s really heartbreaking when you think of how many comedians spent their entire lives making others laugh when in actuality they themselves were hurting and living in sadness. ***My condolences to his family. RIP MATTHEW PERRY

Comedian yes ... comedic genius no definitely not. Bobbed along keeping his head just above water for years ..... until he didn't. If you are not living in the U.S, and subjected to their constant barrage of TV drivel you just forget about these actors. In the end, it either floats or it doesn't ... all puns intended.

So I first read about Mathew Perry's death the morning after he passed, as I was having my coffee and went to my usual news page, I was floored, I could not believe it, my mouth literally dropped. His death is so sad, for he was on such a good path of getting clean and seemed to accomplish it, even writing a book, aside from being such a loved actor, Chandler Bing was the ultimate, could he Beee anymore amazing. RIP Chandler

I couldn't careless about any celebrity and usually don't care about their personal life But this man here is an exception He brought so much joy to ppl He was all alone , desperate , addictive and his health was so much worse unlike his colleagues I don't know why but i believe it's a cry for help and a childhood trauma . Our mental health are alway affected by the home that brought us .. Which is family I'm really sorry to say this But shame on his family to say such a casual statement If he was my boy i wouldn't be able to even speak But they were doplomatic and weird So .. I really wish him to rest in peace And maybe just maybe it's for the best for him God has always a good plan for us I believe in his wisdom . And shame on his family for troubling such a beautiful , pure soul . ❤

Let’s not judge the past or his parents. People make mistakes. Phenobarbital was given to babies routinely in that time period. Both my sister and I where given phenobarbital as babies and neither one of us had a drug problem as an adult. Everyone reacts differently and his parents did what the doctor said would help their child.

After years of drug abuse and heavy drinking even after u stop all the damage to the body has been don and can get worse I believe his heart stopped he was in extremely hot water the combo cud have shocked him and in a sec he drowned I was a cardiac nurse drugs abuse liguor it all explodes just a thought❤❤

I too suspect he had a cardiac event. Hot tubs are usually safe but if you have an undetected heart condition or high BP they can precipitate a cardiac event. Who cares about his past drug & alcohol use, doesn't take away from his comedic genius and being a genuinely nice guy! Lots of very smart and talented people ( as well as your average nobody ) struggle with addiction issues. It is not a character flaw!

I'd say it was the doctors that prescribe them, not his parents. People didn't question the medical profession much back in the 60's & 70's. If a doctor said you needed a drug, you took it or gave it to your children. Look at the Ritalin crap so many kids were given for, supposed ADHD back in the day. Nasty stuff!

Nobody is making excuses, addiction is a complicated issue and customized to each individuals biology, psychology, traumas and just because substance use is pleasurable and often ends up addicting those that had no intention of ending up with a problem'dependency.. Addiction is not a character flaw!

To the family: if you would have loved him when he was young, he wouldn’t have been addicted. Having children is a huge responsibility. If you can’t handle having children, please don’t have them, but don’t abandon them.
