I never thought about how much it made sense to bring Geras back out of all the other MK11 newcomers, story wise it makes ALOT of sense Also, Liu Kang’s fatality is the most overkill shit ever, I love it

Yeah, he is a fixed point in time. That means he is the only character Liu Kang cant get rid of. Also Ed boon said he was his favorite NRS era character so I figured it would be him as the only NRS era character in the game until takeda comes out

@@PelleFixaryeah, since MK9 are usually called the NRS games, and before MK9 it's the Midway era (the company rebranded to Netherrealm Studios since then)

@@retelefe What he said. Fans split the Midway Era into the Arcade Era and 3D Era. We were told we were going to have at least one character from each Era and we were waiting to see what NRS Era character we were getting which this reveal shows. Also @PelleFixar if you ever hear someone say 3D character they are talking about 3D Era MK characters if you watch any other MK videos.

I personally prefer this version of Geras to the last one. Not only does he physically have a more believable size and shape for his body but he also has his own sense of free will. It seems like his loyalty to Liu Kang is based on mutual respect, not some built in programming like with Kronika.

Liu is a REAL humble God if he can casually spawn black holes and hold you above it yet chooses to just have an honest fight 😂 The best fatality in the MK series period. I love Geras' younger looking design too, I'm glad he's being treated as an equal to Liu Kang 🎉

I personall prefer Geras's. Just from how his sand storm cuts off a portion of the body instead of standard in half. But the black hole is very cool.

Almost doesn’t need to be said but Liu Kang’s black hole fatality may be the most creative fatality they’ve ever done, seeing the other person being warped and stretched by the gravity is horrifying

They've probably done more unique fatalities over the years, but it's definitely the first genuinely creative and interesting fatality we've seen in a few games. Much better than MK11's endless "I cut you into pieces and then blow you up" fatalities

MK11 had some of the best fatalities in the series, probably the best collection of fatalities, and plenty of then were creative. You're gonna tell me Terminator putting you in the future isn't creative? Frost turning you into an android, D'Vorah turning you into a weird bug, Skarlet giving you a heart disease... come on now.

I never understood such questions. in the mk universe soldiers fight sorcerers, there are gods, cyborgs, etc. why would anyone find it hard to believe that someone would beat Homelander? in Injustice you could take Batman or Harley Queen and beat everyone lol

According to the IJ comics the characters received pills which made them durable enough to survive fatal stage accidents and strong enough to have at least a chance when battling someone like Superman. In contrast MK never came up with an explanation of any kind.

I know some people are unhappy with this essentially just being a Geras trailer, but I think it was necessary to really showcase how different he is from his MK11 version. He looks rad now.

And Liu Kang is a main stay, he is very rarely NOT in an MK and we generally know what to expect from his bag of tricks. They showed just enough of him to not spoil Geras big glow up and as someone that really wanted to play Geras but never got around to it I really appreciate it.

If you ever spent a few minutes looking through the comments, you'd know that their comments are unique and not copy-pasted, which rules out the possibility of them being a bot. Of course I can't rule the possibility of them using like bots to boost their own comments to do the classic bot thing which is farming subs through being popular, but at least he's putting work by writing actual comments instead of going the lazy way and setting up comment stealing bot so good for them for exploiting KZfaq not dealing with botting.

No one’s talking about Darrius. His assists are some of the most basic yet most creative of his skillset because he’s just a regular person in the scope of this world. And I love him for that. Can’t wait to see what his fatality is.

The fascinating thing is that Geras feels like he fits more with this games cast than he did with MK11. Like this whole roster just feels very solid so far, no one feels out of place.

He seems to be NRS’s best grappler now. I don’t know how many grabs I saw… but there seemed to be a lot. Now with Kenshi being a Puppet character, they’re introducing more archetypes into this game.

If HE is the "grappler" of this game, NRS continues not really getting how to do a grappler. Dude can literally punish you fullscreen for trying to keep him away with projectiles and has long range stun - if ANY grappler of ANY other game had that they would all be god tier. Geras seems to be exactly like he was in 11 in this case

I really like how good the stages look. I think the first stage in this trailer that Geras was fighting in is the same stage we saw in the Lin kuei trailer but that stage had a snow storm in the Lin Kuei trailer and in the Geras trailer it is not snowing. So it looks like some stages have day and night versions and other stages have different weather.

Geras was my favorite out of the MK11 newcomers so I'm glad he's back. Also that Liu Kang fatality goes hard. He takes you to space and sucks you in a black hole. Raiden must be jealous of his new godly powers right now.

Super small detail when Frost activated the breaker and did a back flip, Smoke assisted her fall by guiding her landing. Small things like that prove to me that they are invested.

I'm glad geras is here. I loved the character and the concept and everything it was more about his execution that I was meh about so I'm perfectly fine with giving him another chance. And the fatalities at the end were some of the best I've seen so far. Liu kang is doing some truly godly stuff with that black hole.

I think what makes the trailer better is that it only focused on Geras primarily with just a splash of Lui Kang since they are the only “Timekeepers”. The other trailers revealed 2-3 characters and even a Kameo.

The event was DreamCon run by RDCWorld. They had $3k MK 11 Tournament that was hosted by WWE Stars Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston and had some other minor celebs/streamers involved and NRS/WB dropped it during that since they were sponsoring and the RDCWorld guys seem to have signed a deal w/ WB in recent years. It was actually a pretty fun little tournament and they represent the FGC well especially on the side of casual black gamers. They frequently stream SF6, occasional MK, and anime fighters like the bandai namco ones or anything dragonball related. Khleo Thomas best known from the movie Holes w/ Shia Lebouf won the MK tournament, he is a pretty decent Sub-Zero player, there was some skill on display.

I think this trailer hints there could be some interesting shake-ups in character allegiances. Who will turn on Liu Kang over their past/present/future being pre-determined? Hanzo Hasashi, Johnny Cage, and Kung Lao come immediately to mind...

Geres made me realize how cool Unga bunga can look. Funny to think, using brute force can be depicted as slow, punishing on block, all these tropes on the speed of them, and Geres is literally time Lord so none of that matters (jokingly ofc)

The Strength and durability it takes do resist spaghettification that close to a black hole/ the event horizon. A scale of power hitherto unheard of and mind boggling.

Seems like they change the whole slow down gameplay with assist throw. Now the main character comes back in right before the assist character finish their throw animation which is making the game alot faster

I knew it was Geras from the Moment I heard his voice in the Lin Kuei Trailer, even though I wanted Tremor I’m down for the Best Character in MK11, spotting his Liu Kang Colors and Style, proving the Negative Concequeces of the God of Fire’s Actions to his Peace, and Both Liu Kang and Geras has some of the Scariest Fatalities in a Cosmic Level I didn’t thought it was Possible.
