With that said all outlets are acting as if Max is an incredible underdog in this fight and many are calling for his retirement. Max said it best," you're only as good as your last fight." The same can be said for Volk. They're still world class fighters. Taking a loss doesn't change that.

That was interesting to hear a ranked UFC fighter comparing their sport to others. MMA requires more bravery and mental fortitude than all the others. "You are only as good as your last fight" and they don't occur every week or month like other sports.

What he says about the nature of the game is really good and on point. Think it's @ 8 minutes. He talks about what we dont see them doing; what we dont see them giving up; that we only judge them on 18-29 minutes and how unforgiving and unique the sport is in that you cant just have a war and lose and then fight the next day; you have to wait three or for months (or longer) just to prove you're not your last loss.
