Yes, indeed. They managed to capture a fluidity of movement that paid proper homage to American and British cartoons from the mid-1900's, in my opinion. That deserves immense kudos from the animators.

He seems to have gotten over it. Denial is one of the stages of mourning which is where he was when he was looking for a way to return his wife to life. Mourning is another stage where they finally realize what they love is truely gone which seems to kick in after Yugi beat him and then there's Acceptance where the person moves on.

@@susic1819 I think they meant some other "Toons" Pegasus uses, such as Parrot Dragon, Dark Rabbit, and Toon Alligator. Technically they are cartoon creatures (and even Alligator has "Toon" in its name enabling some use in the archetype), however none of them are given the Toon ability. About half of the monsters he used against Yugi and Kaiba that were pre-Relinquished weren't classified as Toons, and still aren't. It kinda sucks, but they still look adorable.

The eyes were the best part of the toons, especially Dark Rabbit and Blue-Eyes. And considering who it was playing these cards, it made perfect sense.

I always thought it didn't make much sense that Pegasus used toons in the movie. Kaiba is really prideful. He would never lose to the same strategy twice, his pride wouldn't allow it. Pegasus was a smart guy, and was pretty good at reading people even without the Millenium Eye - he should have realized that the same strategy wouldn't work twice against Kaiba. Plus, Pegasus had access to every card and knew every strategy in all of Duel Monsters, so he easily could have used a different deck for his rematch with Kaiba. All that considered, it doesn't make much sense that he used the Toon deck again in the movie. Kaiba even says as much to Alister in season four, when Alister pretends to be Pegasus and uses toons against Kaiba. Kaiba figures out that it's not really Pegasus precisely because "Pegasus" is basically using the same strategy against Kaiba twice in a row, and Kaiba knows the real Pegasus would never do that. Oh well, I guess that's what you get in a non-canon movie like Pyramid of Light: mischaracterization to fit the plot of the movie.

the ugly barnacle there was a difference between duelist kingdom and the movie and that was Pegasus eye. in duelist kingdom Pegasus was essentially undefeatable he was the most powerful millennium item user and the creator of the game, he even had the king of games seemingly beaten until the mind shuffle of course, good thing for that.

OH MY GOD, that freaking Toon World arena he surrounded himself with! And the tricky part was trying to get a Field Card to activate there *without it getting intercepted by the enemy Cards!* (either they attack the Card, or they attack YOU if you tried to get too close to use it next to Pegasus)

@@daelen.cclark 4kids did a pretty good job all things considered. They were under network guidelines. Follow them or no Yugioh in the west. I wander sometimes, what would have happened without their influence in this anime. I think Yugioh wouldn't have become the world wide phenomenon. Different marketing would have been required. Take other card games like Magic, completely different way to advertise themselves. Slow burn over time, advertised only to competitive or semi-competitive. Yugioh has intrinsic problems that make it hard to advertise without the type of anime they had. Both in the rule set and lore origins. Base it on the original too much, and you get Season 0. Even the sub had problems in their logic till, I think, 5Ds. You see it with things like Vanguard, the anime can't really reach the popularity of even current day Yugioh, and that is made for kids and young teens. We may like the more adult version, but the dub kept the spirit of the original, only for a younger demographic. I think problems only started showing in the Gx and 5Ds era. Gx was really inconsistent and you can't really make the 5Ds anime for younger viewers without loosing some things. Still the dubs were pretty good as well. The problem came to a boil with anime like One Piece. 4Kids knew they could do nothing with it, and initially they refused. They just were forced and when it flopped they were left to take the hit. The network and mother companies just went: "Blame it on them".

Voba1000 I play a toon deck, AND i never lose toon world and even when i do(4% of the times i lose it) i have ways to keep the monsters around. Good toon users have ways of keeping the monsters around even when toon world is destroyed(better way is to summon lots then bounce it to your hand which allows you to keep the monsters)

I bounce my toon world or use cards like skill drain, they may not be able to do direct attacks through effect but they can attack when summoned, stick around when toon world is destroyed, and for higher ups i don't have to pay 500 life points to attack
