Time to put these Maxtraxs to the test! The Family and I join a new group of friends on their annual snow run to enjoy some great food and drinks in the mountains, and to build a snow man of course! with the slipper wet snow conditions, I am positive the collective group would never had made it to our destination in time without the Maxtrax.

My advice for wheeling in the Rockies is always bring enough food water and gear to spend the night even when your only planning on a day trip. Winter time it’s a good idea to have some dry fire wood snow chains and a five gallon can of gas for the rig. You don’t want to spend the night in the high country unprepared.

I love your videos. I just did a snow drive with some friends on Sunday. We went to Wilkeson. One piece of advice about the maxtrax is don’t let the tires spin. It’ll burn the nubs off. If it’s spinning you need to dig a little more. What’s funny is I’ve yet to use mine on my truck. It’s always to help someone else. Usually a car attempting to get somewhere it has no business going in what is classified as a wilderness zone, lol

When winching you really need to be standing at a safe distance or at least be in your truck. If that shackle on the F-250 broke it could send pieces flying towards you. Also never winch with the truck in park, should be in neutral with your foot on the brake instead. It's easy to forget if you don't winch often. Be safe out there
@anthonypayne1782
@anthonypayne1782 5 жыл бұрын
I was always taught stand perpendicular to angle of winch line. That's why remote is on such a long line. Also the windshield will not protect you. Usually I would hang a floor mat or blanket on middle of winch line to hopefully catch the shackle if it did break. Also I have never been able to winch in neutral cause brakes won't hold me. I always put it in reverse and turn off vehicle. But I have manual trans.

Oh man looks like so much fun, your videos quality are excellent man, and the drone shots are cool too. Snow driving takes a lot of skills and balls, i usually air down and turn traction control off. Steady acceleration throughout but when there's a hill you gotta give it some speed and prepare to drift, pucker up and you'll make it through. We don't get this much snow in VA but when we do, my Tundra on 35's love to plow through it. Also with trucks you'll need some weight in the bed as well, i throw a few sand bags over my rear axles on snow runs.
