Cancun is known as a party destination for many tourists, with its bars, hotel complexes and miles of golden sand beaches being a clear reason to come here.
There are however no fewer than four Mayan sites in the immediate vicinity of Cancun, three of which are located on the busy spit of land known as the Hotel Zone.
