I wonder if you ever think “that will do, it’s close enough “. No, you are such a perfectionist. The miracle that you work on all your pieces is heartwarming. I wish that I had your skill, patience and determination to see that any restoration with my name on it is suitable to fit in a stately home or a palace. Everything that I have seen you do would not look out of place in the very best of houses. Good thing you have Daisy to keep you up to scratch.

At first, I had to laugh at the string ‘drawer pulls’ and at Daisy’s antics, along with the ducks just being ducks- and I completely understand the time it takes to work up the sanding grit- it does take 2,000 years, but the transformation was just phenomenal! That gorgeous wood grain! I was also happy to see that you use Titebond Hide Glue! And I appreciate how you explain your repairs and items that you use! Still cannot get over the final result- I’m certain it’ll bring in a pretty penny! The true definition of “Trash to Treasure!” Bravo, David! 👏👍💖🌟

Gorgeous! Veneering is a lost art. It's a myth that it was only intended to cover cheap wood. It also turned a furniture piece into a "painting" with wood grains. Kudos to the yesteryear companies that manufactured extra fancy veneers for furniture making.

It looks amazing, that repair is invisible unless someone is looking for it specifically. I cannot believe it was such a piece of trash but underneath most of the veneer looked beautiful. Amazing job.

By restoring that piece of furniture that was abused as a workbench in a garage everyone now can see how brilliant furniture manufacturers and their carpenters were at veneer work. The mirror effect of the veneer on the drawers is utterly gorgeous. And that was an affordable chest of drawers for the middle class of Great Britain back in the twentieth century. Thank you, David for giving us a glimpse of history, and at the same time restoring a very worthy chest of drawers. I almost forgot to say that you, David, have the BEST taste in hardware. I love the new knobs.

You helped rediscover the craftsmanship of artisans long gone, once more to live on in memory. You have done more than restore a piece of furniture, you have paid tribute to bygone artists.

It’s simply amazing to me the amount of care given to correcting the imperfections. A beautiful thing has reemerged from the rubbish. It’s a metaphor for life really. With love, care, and a commitment to compassion the patchwork on our souls becomes less noticeable and beauty shines through.

Incredible Job on this dresser. The wood grain is gorgeous. This piece was definitely headed to the DUMP!! I think of that factory and company. People from the 1890's to 1920's. Electric lights, yes. Radio in a handsome cabinet. Phones in the living room, on a little phone table. Coal furnaces. Trolley to work and home. Any bit of window or clear cabinet piece was always glass. Lit their cook stoves in the kitchen with gas. Had an Encyclopedia set in the Living Room. It was dated the year of manufacture right on the spline. Read their Bible and Dictionary in book form. Open windows and fans to cool the house. US cars were massive, and all carbonated gas engines. Propeller driven aircraft for travel. They made this magnificent piece with real wood, veneer, and real brass. I have taken out many slot driven screws from pieces like this. Every thing they had was Made in USA. Today, we see the treasure in this fine piece they made. When will beauty like this be undesirable? Never. Everyone who contributed to this is gone. You really honor them and their work of art.

Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous end result. The stain you chose is such a warm color. That repair that you did? The only person who’s going to see any fault at all is you. The before footage is enough to make a person cry! I can’t wait to see all of these videos. I absolutely LOVE the new hardware, and the finish is perfect for this piece. I was excited about the grain on the drawer fronts, too! I love pieces with a vertical grain running through all of the drawer fronts.

OMG! That dresser is gorgeous. It doesn’t even come close to what it once was. The grain on the veneer is so beautiful. The knobs you picked for it are perfect. Very fine work you did. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟 PS. Enjoyed seeing the Mallard ducks. 3 males n 1 female she’s a smart duck to have so many boes.

Thanks so much Shelly. Those ducks keep me busy, they come to my workshop and quack so I’ll feed them but having 3 Mallards is stressful because they are very aggressive when they get amorous! 😮😮😂😂🦆🦆
