OUT-RAGE-OUS. We inherited a Maytag (different/lower class than the video but similar panel) and the hot water pipe ballooned. I shut off the water and my eldest didn't read the text and tried to use the unit. (I should have disabled the fuse). It went into the F08/E01 code and when I powered off (plug) then powered on again it didn't show any code but the pump was running. No matter what - same scenario - plug in and the pump would only run and the door flashed lock (couldn't even open it). No buttons worked/no error codes. I took apart the front to get at the pump (to see if it was seized) and after tried putting water in the unit and when I plugged it in -- it began to drain - so that eliminated the pump and then I remembered with my upstairs SammySung the diagnostic mode (- hence why I am here). And sure enough I was able to get into it and NOW it started to flash the F08/E01 again. But water was restored and I was able to press the power/cancel and whatever to the point everything restored back to normal. Now I say OUT-RAGEOUS because (A) the SammySung had the same scenario - I turned off the water to test something and it showed this code - and prevented running. But all I had to do was turn off the unit turn the water on. It didn't get stuck or require something special. The Maytag book says "if the code appears again call for service". Again I couldn't get the code back UNTIL I entered *DIAGNOSTICS* and they don't tell you in the book how to enter diagnostics. What a SCAM. (B) They HID the filter valve port behind the panel. The one you are to supposed to check from now and again and remove items from. HID IT! SammySung has it right at the bottom - anyone can open it. Sounds like a "call the tech" scam to me. Maytag is a good name and we have had good luck with their dishwashers but this definitely has soured me. Thanks Moe for this - it helped and did the trick I needed. (My old SammySung had a pump failure and there was only a whine - but I recalled that like Dishwashers the first thing a washer does is pull any water from the machine; that didn't happen which got me to the seized pump; I ordered a replacement including gasket removal tool for under $100CAD and was able to do the repair myself).

So after error codes flash, what do you do? Now my maytag commercial washer just beeps with lights flashing and I can't press anything or make it do anything but beep

@@kellyhamilton460 I'm sorry that I really can't remember details since it's been a year since doing this. Maybe, just keep following and pushing the code indicated in the video even though it doesn't sound like it is registering? And as I indicated, I did have to turn it off a couple times for it to fully reset.

I dont think c00 is an error code thats just what displays at the start of the diagnostic test. Hold the start button until the machine beeps and the door locks to start the test.

From there do what video says a second time> it will run the diagnostics cycles for about 10 minutes, you will see water filling drain , then spins and after it stops by it self and goes back to normal, where the power button is on and door it’s unlocked n ready for your next wash. Video worked like a charm. My wife was making an appointment to buy a new one . I stopped it by fixing with this 🙊. Awesome video. Saved me a new one. 😎👏👏👏👏👏

Odd. That says that the button works and the circuit board thinks everything is OK. Try unplugging the appliance for several minutes to force it to reset. If that doesn't work, and if you are handy, take the appliance report and plug/unplug the main board (hoping that a dirty connector will be scraped clean) and if that fails, try replacing parts but you might be wasting time and money. repairclinic.com takes parts back so if you replace something and it doesn't fix it, you can return whatever parts did not need replacement.

The way I found this was by watching the repairman. I don't know if different models use other procedures. But you're experiencing keyboard issues, so I wonder if your keys are failing to send the right key codes, so the processor won't get the sequence that triggers diagnostics.

Assuming it is out of warranty, my next step would be unplug the washer for a minute, then plug back in to reboot it. Long shot. Next, I'd take it apart and unplug and replug the internal connectors that go to the front panel. If still no-go, I'd replace the keybd panel. RepairClinic.com accepts returns -- so you could get a new one and if that's not the issue, you can return it. But check their terms, not sure that return policy applies to electrical parts.

Press power to exit test mode. Im not sure if youre supposed to put clothes in for the self diagnostic test. To start the test press and hold the start buttton after c00 comes up on the display.

Oh, I hate that!!!! A whole, overpriced board because one little part goes bad. For what it's worth, I fixed the board on my first Maytag after finding a website that detailed some common faults in that first generation. But that's not something most people can do (it involved some understanding of electronics). If you are handy, you can replace the board yourself and get the parts from a company like repairclinic.com. But sadly, you're probably better off buying a new washer.
