@@dennisrainville1809 people forget the pleasure of sub 3000 lbs car. They are nimble & balanced plus you learn and work with the car to maintain speed. All the sensations are transmitted vs numbed. We can even floor the car and enjoy accelerating for more than 3 seconds. I traded an Alfa Romeo Ti for BRZ. I needed room for subwoofer but the ND2 or 3 is better sports car.

So I guess maybe I should not trade my 23 ND2 RF for a 2024 M2? I was thinking it might be more fun to drive especially with the manual. You’re making a valid point and you’re right about reaching the limits for a Miata and trying to enjoy the M2 without getting caught for speeding. I love driving my manual Miata but the M2 is larger and safer and more practical. Performance wise it seems like it would be fun to drive. However, the Miata is very tight inside and seems better as more of a weekend car. Don’t you think the M2 is more functional as a daily and more comfortable overall as your only car? I want a fun to drive car as a daily and the Miata seems too small and UNSAFE? I wish it was about the size of a Boxster but the same price! The Mustang is nice but too heavy and large. Handling not speed is my main interest. Plus I want a manual.

Some time after your "already a future classic" Mazda video, I went ahead and put down a deposit on an ND3 Miata. That was in February. 3 weeks ago I took ownership of the car, have been railing it like my motorcycles, have been in and out of drive throughs and errands and it has been a great experience, everything I enjoy about motorcycles but now with an actual Isofix RECARO seat that I can take my favorite child with. I had tested the BRZ in March, and it is a good car, but I didnt find the BRZ more practical than the MX5 is fun. If the second row seats would have had 2 extra inches of legroom I may have been convinced to get that, but it doesnt, my kids would not fit behind me so why bother with the weight

I LOVED my 2001 six-speed Miata. It was slow-ish, 2nd slowest car I've ever owned, but man, it was right up there with my CRX Si back in the day as far as being fun! I bought it for my wife to learn how to drive a manual, she learned, then she felt "unsafe" in it because it's so small, so I took it over. Unfortunately, it sat in the garage a lot as we both needed more car for day to day stuff, and the Miata was a 5th car. I sold it after it sat for nearly 4 years at our Az home in 2023 with only 72,000 on the clock. It went to an enthusiast who knew every nut and bolt and he didn't flinch at our price. I had a 2020 Miata previously that I sold in 2022 to buy a '22 Camaro 2SS 1LE, as I'd never had a V8 and wanted to get one before regulations got rid of them forever. I really loved it, but I found myself missing the lightweight nature of the Miata. Was deciding between a GR86/BRZ and another Miata and ended up going back to the Miata this year. I don't need any practicality (my wife and I have 3 other cars), and just wanted something purely fun to drive. Placed an order back in January and picked up a '24 MX-5 Club soft top back in May. Love this car, and as a purely fun car, it might be my favorite of all the ones I've owned.

@@Platos-Den It is a great handling car, and I would have kept both if I had the money and space. I just found I preferred the lightweight feeling of the Miata (no matter how good the handling, the Camaro always felt big). I haven't really had the Miata on the highway, as I try to actively avoid them when I drive. The most time I've spent in the Miata is about a two hour stretch, and I didn't find it fatiguing at all. I have the trim with the Recaro seats if that makes any difference.

One of my most favorite articles was a Nissan Sentra SE-R from a fan was stripped with parts cut out to make it as fast and light as possible. Another one is a dual twin turbo engine Hyundai Tiburon where it made the most confusing burnout. Front engine in reverse while the rear engine is drive. Incredible quarter mile time with barely a tire chirp out of it.. Awesome times back in the early 2000s!

Ignore these clowns talking crap out of their ass. Subaru makes longitudinally aligned cars, with a lot of utility and a lot of character. They’re generally well designed, and definitely well made. Toyota does do better, but there are compromises in buying a beige, FWD transportation appliance. Don’t listen to idiots. Choose a reputable brand - which you’ve already done - and buy what you want.

Just fit 2 35 packs of Coke, 16 oz Arizona variety pack, 2x 2 lb bags of coffee, 6x romaine, a case of oat milk, 3x shampoos and conditioners, grape tomatoes, 2 lasganas, tzatziki dip, bacon, 3lbs of limes, honey, naan and cucumbers. Only thing that had to go up front was the lasagna and a case of bagel chips. The trunk isn't bad, though the opening is a bit small and the glove box does take up some real estate along with the aftermarket strut bars, but it's got a reasonable size for many items, just not one large item. Carried a 40" TV in the front with the top down and the extra long reach HF jack. Only complaint with the MX5 is that the first gear seems a bit too short to me and second is uncomfortably long to take off from for everyday use. It's almost like a truck gear. I can see why Fiat opted for the NC transmission.

I used a 1991 1.6L Miata as my daily driver back when I was in my mid-20's. I bought it used when it was 6 years old. I got other cars later but ended up keeping that car for 12 years and never had anything major go wrong, I think I only replaced the top (eventually) and a power window switch. Granted, I lived in California at that time (I now live in the Midwest so winters are an issue) and the road wasn't full of oversized SUVs driven by people on their cell phones. I used that car for everything for about 3 years and smiled every mile. I keep thinking that if I ever retire or live in a warmer climate, I'll use one as a daily again. If my wife keeps her small SUV I don't really need two cars to carry everything.
