Great video - appreciate the plethora of most importantly REAL world tests for cars you get to test. Lots of effort put into the filming/editing/driving and research. It must be tiring at times. It is appreciated for the content, watching from the UK.

the mx-30 needs the power for the sound generator so not enough power for good acceleration *lol*

You didn’t use the gear shift levers on the steering wheel. There are D - - up to D + + modes. D - - increases regen, D + + increases acceleration, at least that’s what the dealership told me when I tested the MX-30

@@bjornnyland yes it makes a difference (right side flippers) but not a lot. Won't change the test conclusion.

@@bjornnyland men how you test a car , post it , and then say , I didn’t know how the car works? Isn’t it why testers test the cars ? Doesn’t make any sense if you post numbers , that r not real . Gosh !

I actually enjoyed the sound while driving the car. It's of course always different in real life to a video. Not annoying at all.

Mazda went on and on about the fact that they cut the performance regarding torque and hp on the mx-30 drivetrain. IMO they wanted to have a most comparable behaviour to their ice models to prevend a bit of an osborne-effekt on their fossil fleet. Also the argument, that the battery was kept this small due to co2 and sustainable stuff is not correct, because it lacks the fact that Mazda is totally ignoring the co2 emissions of just 1L Dino-Juice from extraction to refining to gas station until it gets in the tank to be burned...that energy consumption would fill my i3s battery (42kWh) from 0-100% FOR JUST 1 LITER OF Gasoline, what a giant waste of energy!

Also in their graph, they show, that larger battery pack needs replacement after the same distance as 35 kwh.

Just one reference about noise and tyres. Winter tyres (Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 18") vs summer tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 18") in my Model 3: winter tyres are 2-4 dB quieter depending on tarmac roughness and speed.

does somebody know the sound emission labeling on the conti vc7 model ? here in germany we only have the very loud (71 plus db) winter contact versions.

what if you brake torque it so the gage with the power is at the max ? probably crazy wheel spin at launch ?

Has anyone mentioned you may have lactose intolerance giving you the type 3 discharge, it is used in many products as a cheap source of sweetener, especially cappuccino and deserts, like the ones in the service stations, cut out anything that could be sweetened and I think you will see a huge improvement

Very strange that it has that break in acceleration around 40-45 kmh, almost like a gearshift even though it is only a single speed so that is not the case.

There is a reason haters will hate the sound of this car because it's an EV, remember that Mazda has a long history and love for the Wankel ....

You're all wrong, performance cars need some sort of sound engagement, maybe not so much on lower end cars. Look at the new rs e tron gt, they hired a sound specialist for that thing. Even some ice cars have artificial ice sound so yea u can disable it, if u like being a hater 🤨

How in the world do manufacturers in 2020 still think they need an artificial sound INSIDE of an electric car? The quietness of the drivetrain is one of the main assets of an EV, but "hey, let's ruin that with the lovely droning sound of a characterless 4-cylinder engine, that is going to be so cool!". We know you don't like EV's, Mazda, and that this is mostly a compliance model, but stop sulking and get over yourself already!

The MX-30 has the best crash test results of all cars tested by the new NCAP regulations so far, better than ID3.

I fail to see the relevance of the acceleration test. As all can see in the video the car reaches speed quickly. Who would need to accelerate any faster? Can't see how that can make roads any safer. As to noise, yes the car is quiet and might be more quiet even if that artificial sound could be switched off.

I can 100% confirm this. I drove this car in September and it was bad. Weak regen, thirsty af and you don't get the EV feeling. Also when I tested it it couldn't display the current consumption.
