Z! I have to say thank you for this candid video! I’ve been following you for years. You made this video on Facebook called “golden handcuffs” made me realize that I couldn’t fight the healthcare system & that I need to just get through it without missing family life. Thank you!

When I get the emails on wellbeing or selfcare at work, they are deleted before opening. 22 months to go until I'm free to go muck horse stalls and groom if the bod holds out!

Yeah, I delete most of my emails at work. I’m hoping to retire soon. Health care is a shit show. I’m glad this guy realizes his video on mindfulness or whatever he was trying to say was …um…nonsense. I’m doing good doing what i need to do for the ER patient, I don’t have time to sit with them, I’m setting up a bipap machine,or a vent, or running nebulizer treatments. We cover every part of the hospital, I don’t have time to sit with a patient.

Beautiful, Zubin. I love this. Who cares if it’s spiritual or equanimous or whatever? It’s genuine, it’s real, and it’s filled with truth. Again, who cares if it’s absolute truth, or eternal truth? It’s the raw, vulnerable, honest truthfulness of the moment. I run into so many of the same almost unbelievable dissonance in the social/human service work I’m doing now. Nobody really knows what they’re doing at all, and the kind of truth and honesty, and yes, moral, outrage, that you are expressing here has such value and potency to cut through the repressive nonsense. Good on you, Man!

I stated watching during covid....ive ALWAYS known I was "asleep" as a young person and now I am totally ready to wake up....I cannot wait much longer.....come to maui or I go there or Angelos and we shoot the most authentic " fill/documentary" that shows what is LOOKS LIKE....I AM ANIMATED AND VERY SIMILIAR TO YOU !!! I am dead serious, im too nervous to do it alone......you and Angelo would make me have a spontaneous awakening

Thank you for everything. Your videos helped me get through the pandemic and helped me when my dad was dying at Stanford Hospital. I walked around the Stanford campus listening to your show not feeling so alone. It was a struggle to get the doc there to allow my dad to die with grace. Shout out to Mission Hospice and Home Care. Thank you again. I still play your music videos and wonder how Tom and Logan are doing, esp. Tom’s mom.

I loved healthcare when I went into it, (laboratory) I felt like I made a difference as part of the care team. As I aged and moved around (due to my partner’s career) I changed jobs frequently-and the longer I worked, the less staff were in the lab, and the demands were higher. It began to feel the focus was on quantity versus quality. Like there weren’t people behind those specimens. Even looking at blood smears, it felt like we were being timed per slide. My stress level was through the roof. I tried to speak out but we were beaten down to be grateful we even had jobs. Benefits such as double time on holidays and significant differential pay for working evenings and nights. Mandatory overtime and trying to get off was a nightmare. I loved the science but I ended up going into animal research. There I have flexibility, better pay, much less stress, and although I miss patient care I am not sick to my stomach when I leave work. Now most labs are desperate for staff and turnover is high, especially after COVID, and working conditions are worse than ever.

This is fucking brilliant! When I played piano in hotels and restaurants in Canada, a 5* hotel bought an electric player grand and supplanted my work in the early 90s, and restaurants gave up the cost of a live piano player. No lie - I became a turf grunt and delivery driver, and drove deliveries (plumbing materials - heavy physical labour) till I was able to retire at 69 years of age. It sounds unreal, but there it is. The fight to change my approach to the music scene was not in me, so I get how these shifting tectonics can lead to despair, and, sadly, suicide in some cases, as you have mentioned. Also, a genetic syndrome (contracture) led to stopping playing the keys, but something indomitable within me doubled in strength, meditation did not hurt, and Angelo in his pointing brought about yet another shift. Other arts are being pursued, thankfully free from the concerns of a career. In fact, pursued in freedom. Your work and spirit are amazing.

Hey Zubin! It's been a while... I enjoyed this talk, sugar-free and raw, nasty but nutritious! 😂😂 I'm also sick of the whole Mcmindful industry... there's a lot of Jay Shettys out there, and they come in all shapes and flavors, conveniently delivered to your door! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, Angelo and a few more are the exceptions, but still, I wouldn't bet my life on anybody... Even the Art of Living Retreat Center gave me some Mcmindfulness vibes as a business model 🤷‍♀️

Health care VERY broken in Canada and thus I'm extremely chronically ill HOWEVER when Jon Cabot Zin first brought it to the people falling from cracks in system and hid the Buddhist part he did a great thing 👍 on another note I'm a huge Angelo fan. In general I question my formerly good intuition now and I'm glad you talked about Jay. My instinct was inauthentic. LOVE your content these days and your waking up journey ✨️ ❤ Authentic and vulnerable conversation. And ofcourse you're hilarious 😂

Re: min 19:00 I’m curious to know what you do want to do that feels authentically you? I don’t feel I am the only nurse/healthcare worker speaking here, but live in person group meetings with a small group in the bay area/live stream to people online would be wonderful. I wonder how that would align with your authentic needs? Not a talk, not a teaching, not a guru style meeting, but just a bunch of like-minded burned out, jaded, healthcare workers (haha) getting together to dig deeper into awakening. As I’m sure you’ve experienced on silent retreat, community meditation is so special!

We learn different languages from our babyhood from others for the purpose of communicating whatever we need to. A language is made of words with specific meanings. The word “fuck” was considered a taboo word during my time of upbringing and it was never in my vocabulary for my past 73 years. So, I was not programmed to use it freely like the way some others fluently do these days, easily ignoring the exact meaning of it. What is the exact meaning of the word “fuck”? I think it refers to the activity carried out to propagate our own species. When we think about that activity, it can be interpreted in different ways. It could be a sacred activity that has the power of reproducing our own kind, passing the genes of our ancestors to the next generation. This whole existence relies on the propagation of all kinds of species and the Mother Nature seems to be supporting it without any reservations. It could start with innocent love felt in the hearts of two people, which is referred to as “making love”. It could be carried into a brutal way of fulfilling sexual desires. It could be selfishly carried out forcefully, by one individual, as a painful rape, without the consent of the other individual. It could be carried out by a group participating together to fulfill their sexual desires or just to make videos and make it into a business like pornography. So, it starts like an innocent activity performed with heartfelt love, resulting in the conception of an innocent baby for the propagation of species. But, that so-called innocent and purposeful activity ends up with a whole lot of our creativity added into it and runs out of decent words to express it anymore. So, I think that is why the word “fuck” has become ugly and a taboo word. The next thing is that we get programmed to use it wildly, without any restrictions. Maybe using that word makes people feel energetic, as they get to do something against what is accepted as descent. After all, democracy allows freedom of speech, right? But, it is overall comfortable for everyone, if we can make an attempt to use nice words in talking, without using words that could convey confusing ideas. However, after getting programmed in a certain way, it takes a lot of work to undo the habits. Even though we have the right to exercise our freedom, it is nice if we try to consider about how others get affected and eventually feel from our behaviors, when we live in this conventional world and deal with existing people. HOWEVER, ALL OF THE ABOVE BECOME MEANINGLESS AND NONSENSE, WHEN WE REALIZE THAT THERE ARE NO REAL PERSONS EXISTING HERE AND THERE ARE ONLY SUBATOMIC PARTICLES OF ENERGIES, WHICH THE SENSE ORGANS IN THIS BODY ARE INCAPABLE OF SENSING. However, I think we have to be careful even in uttering words, because they can generate positive or negative energies to the surroundings.

Lol “f**k you Glenda😂. Preach, zubin!!!!😂😂😂Thanks for being real! I will throw in that unlike Glenda, I much appreciate the F-bombs. And truth be told, all our words must be taken with a grain of salt. BUT Mr. Shetty and his breed (imho and in the words of my wordsmith sweet late mom), “(he) is not a piece of shit, but his message or persona is”-- or “you are not a bad person but your behavior right now sucks!” Likewise, religion and spiritual schools of thought pretty much are just ways of trying to describe the indescribable, but claims to all- knowingness and/or perfection are scary, and “piece of shit” often seems like the best way to describe these “deities”!!!! Keep doing what you do best (as it shows up)!!!❤

Just finished watching this on the replay this morning because I wasn't in the right headspace last night after work. I basically didn't feel like listening to anything. 😂 The content on this live: 👍🏻. I mean I'm biased as I can listen to this stuff all day. The actual format: 👎🏻, just not great on the replay but then again, something just does not sit right with me with vertical video format. I don't really know why, but just not a fan. 🤷🏻‍♀

Jay Shetty is a false prophet like many others. He is simply capitalizing on other people's Light and Wisdom. Unfortunately, he is very convinced of himself and this is what he projects outwards. And people love everything that glitters, never asking themselves if it truly is gold. Nowadays, everything glitters but nothing is gold anymore.

Ok. I agree we are fucked in health-care. why you are mad at private equity buying up private practices? Look at those provider who came into health-care for money only. They droll when private equity buy them up. Big pay outs for them as well. ok. We are fucked because our system is fucked. Why health insurance is not transparent like my car insurance, why employers getting in my health care? You want socialize health-care like Europe? Good luck when you have cancer? Wait in line. No government interference that's all health-care need. Let provider provide and heal. Let nurse nurse us to heal.
