MD83 cockpit video, landing at Bucharest BBU RWY25

MD83, YR-OTH, Ten Airways positioning flight TLV-BBU on 20/10/2014. One of the last flights before the company ceased the operation... The NOSE GEAR primary indication was faulty, thats the reason of annoying repetitive warning "LANDING GEAR" :)))

Love this, good old cockpit with its broken things haha... the broken slat LAND indicator, the nose gear indication, the classic analog style gauges, beautiful.

The first officer's effort to silent landing gear horn was interesting. when it's not three green and you have flap beyond 24 degree (landing flap setting) you can't silence it by pushing that button.

@@vladimirpetrovic4753my dad was a md 83 pilot for 23 years and the nose gear indicator is faulty right? Probably the sensors destroyed near the landing gear

How do you know if there's actually a problem with the nose gear? Did they ask for a visual inspection from the ground ?

You flew the plane into retirement. Did you already know that at the time? I think the Gear Indicator hasn't been fixed anymore. ;)) Is this plane actually still there at the airport or has it been scrapped in the meantime? Isn't anyone really interested in the whole MD80 in Bucharest?

Good question! The primary nose gear indication was faulty (you may observe red middle light when gear down), however MD80 may dispatch like this as there is mechanical indication (a green pin) that confirms nose gear down and locked. Annoying noise meanwhile can't be inhibited :) Thanks for watching!!!

It was just a joke developed after 3 months flying the same crew... If I wanted her to "give me" flaps 40 (that she didn't like) I had to pay her that amount :) Thanks for watching!!!

Where to begin...lol...good thing that did not appear to be a revenue flight. No effort to trouble shoot nose gear light? Ahh screw it were just gonna land...lol...great video.

This is the approaching minimums whistle. It starts 50 feet above minimums (decision height) and then increases in pitch until DH. Newer planes also call "Minimums"

@@marshallhogan3440 No prob. actually a useful tool to judge descent rate, maybe thats why these pilots set it so low, as f/o calls minimums earlier.
