"which was completely unnecessary" i strongly disagree. sky bison murals are ALWAYS necessary

I just watched studson studio's build on howl's moving castle and i was thinking "what if someone were to build atla's upside down air temple" and as I scrolled through his comment section i came across your channel and the exact build i was thinking of :0. I just wanna say your build is really impressive. I love all the details you put into the temple and cliff and little sculptures. i literally just came here lol but i'm really inspired to work on a miniature version of the frog's house in travelling frog(game) or maybe Arrietty's little house under the floorboards :D

Hahaha I honestly can't believe you could say this was impressive after watching Studson's build, that's on another level! Appreciate it so so much though, glad to know a little bit of serendipity was working in our favor! Super cool projects, hope you get to do one (or both) of them in the future! This is completely rad as always, I especially love using the lack of shelf space as inspiration to create an iconic upside-down world. I hope for your sake you get to work on a smaller project next because they are always so impressive, from giant house on a cliff to a tiny borrowers bedroom in a cookie tin. Seeing you work on projects from media that clearly means so much to you is just the icing on top of your incredible builds because you can truly tell in the attention to details and beautifully done editing. I think you've done the show more than justice with this, sincerely a long time avatar fan and new but enthusiastic MechanicalFiend fan.

I LOVED the intro! Super great video, A++! Right now I’m working on a crazy wizard tower that’s about 3 foot tall, that looks like a giant dragon took a bite out of it, with a huge chunk of the shingles and bricks ripped off, with only the wooden “structure” inside showing. I’ve used a lot of your crafting tips for some of my projects, especially your aluminum foil rocks! This is actually my first non-themed build, just something out of my imagination. I’m also working on the flying howls moving castle from the end of howls moving castle ( I already made the big main one) but it’s pretty hard, considering that there are LITERALLY only two shots of it from the move, a side view and a top view of the back half. So, 🤞I can make up the rest of it. Thanks so much for inspiring me, you and all the other crafters on KZfaq have taught me a lot of good crafting skills, and I’ve gotten a lot better. Thank you so much!

My girlfriend has literally like 200 balls of yarn (she's not crazy just works with them) in the house, and I never considered using them for crafting. But seeing your videos, I tend to change this. Great craft and video as always! :)
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Yarn is actually surprisingly useful because it's flexible too! If you have a curved edge that needs some trim, it can be pretty versatile and easy to use. Thank you as always haha, hope all of your crafting has been going well!

@@MechanicalFiend Thanks, crafting is going well, video views not. :DD

Ahhh well at the risk of sounding super disingenuous, the amount of people that see your work does not equate to the quality and value of it. That being said, will do my best to get to watching some of your new videos now that I have a little bit of time to~

Your work is sooo inspiring. I have a small kid and i really hope to teach him about reusing and repurposing old toys or other recycable materials with projects like that. Keep up the amazing work! Oh, and maybe you could use thin wires to place Appa in a more dynamic pose and cover it with hot glue so it looks like "air streams",like a flying effect! Just an idea. Again, you are AMAZING!
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
That is so awesome to hear, really hope he gets to grow up making stuff! A cool idea, could have totally done something with a flying effect... though actually thinking about it, Appa doesn't fly super dynamically in the show lol. Regardless, thank you for the idea and so happy you could enjoy~

08:21 I knit. This past year, I added to the insanity by unplying my yarn. I use the thinnest needles I can find, even using florists' wire where necessary - but using sock yarn that is labeled as SUPERFINE, it's prehhhhhhtty gosh-dern thin, but made from twisting 3-5 thinner yarns -- like a cable suspension bridge, the wire cables have much more strength when they are twisted, layered, and twisted some more. Well, taking the yarn apart not only leaves me with insanely thin yarn, but insanely frail yarn, too-boot! And, it takes a lonnnnnng time to do - and, lots get broken because of how weak it becomes. So, ya, I feel ya when you spoke about unravelling to get the effect you need for this project.
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the individual strands can definitely be pretty fragile on their own, that's why I tend to only use them for aesthetic purposes rather than functional haha. Totally feel your pain though, sounds like your yarn is a ton thinner, which I can only imagine is super difficult to work with. Wish you well with all your future knitting and yarn unraveling, I am with you my friend!

I love the Avatar series and I think you did a fantastic job. While Iroh is my favorite character I think Sokka would be my 2nd favorite because he's goofy and can still keeps up with the rest of the gang as a non bender. Lastly Sokka is simply a well rounded down to earth kind of guy.

A little bewildered that you didn't think of unravelling the yarn and stiffening it with glue before using it on the roofs
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
I did do that on the smaller temples my friend! Tbh I thought the thickness was right with the proportion when I was putting it on and then when I painted it, I realized I was sorely mistaken lol... still learning, you win some you lose some!

My favorite character is Zuko. Not because I am not a huge fan of Iroh, but because I can relate to Zuko's Arch a lot. And I would probably be a waterbender. Cause Ice and Steam and Snow and Blood and water is just my spiritual element, also I drink a lot of it :3
@MechanicalFiend3 жыл бұрын
Zuko totally has one of the best character arcs in a story I've ever seen, so well done! Water is a super cool element, has so many interesting branches of it for sure. Love the healing aspect to it, a great choice!
