Joining ABC News in 2000, Dan Harris was on a set path towards a conventionally successful career in journalism. He anchored World News on Sunday from 2006-2011 and co-anchored the weekend edition of Good Morning America and Nightline during that time as well.
On Good Morning America, he got a panic attack on air on June 7, 2014. This prompted him to seek the help of various mental health professionals, religious leaders and self-help gurus on a quest to find a cure for his anxiety. He chronicles this search in his New York Times bestselling book "10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Really Works - A True Story". Now, he's following up with "Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics" which documents his journey towards understanding why most Americans resist meditation despite its scientifically proven benefits.

TL;DW version: you should try doing this because it's most likely beneficial to you; yes, there are questions and worries, but ultimately it's not a rational thing, it's just good for you (most likely).

Hey google, drop the disclaimer at the beginning. You come across as a wimpy hippie with everything now. I remember when you were cool google. Circa 2002

Mindfulness doesn't work on purpose. What it does do is trick us into being spiritual. And as an unfortunate accident, delusions are themselves sometimes helpful in soothing the rumination.
