Great and balanced review, Richard. I bought this adapter about a month ago specifically for the Sony GM 14mm 1.8 and I am happy to confirm that with the latest Z fc update and ETZ-11 update (as of December 2021) the lens works perfectly with the adapter. This lens was the main reason for me to buy the adapter as Nikon has no equivalent in their lineup nor do they have plans for such lens in their roadmap. It is an excellent optic and my ETZ adapter is constantly attached to the lens so I use it like any other native Z lens with zero hassle.

Great review, Richard 🙂 Do you know how the E-mount Voigtlander lenses work with either adapter, considering that they have electronic contacts, but otherwise are manual lenses? Is the issue solely that the camera doesn't recognize that there is a lens, and the electronic connection will do the trick?

I found out that adapters to Z mount usually more expensive than other mounts ... for example you can find EF to (EF-M , E , RF) adapters for less than 50$ but the one made for Z mount wouldn't be cheaper than 150$ ... Also these adapters (yes they contain electronics yet they can be produced for way less than 250$ (If they cost less there will be much more consumers)

Another youtuber had the same issue as you did with the clip wiggling - apparently you are supposed to have the mount cover on before you put the clip on - the extra thickness eliminates the wiggle.

You probably don't still have access to a variety of lenses, but I wonder what the behavior for manual lenses with electronic contacts, such as Voigtlander or Zeiss Loxia lenses is like? I often use the Techart version with a Voigtlander 50mm f/2 APO-Lanthar (wonderful lens, even sharper than the Nikon Z 50/1.8 S), and have noticed that the aperture is not reported when changing the aperture ring, but strangely has to be set to match on the camera to record the taken aperture in EXIF. Also, the camera has to be set to manual focus mode for focus peeking to show up, when Nikon lenses will show peeking as soon as manual focus is engaged, no matter the camera's focus setting. Finally, I have heard that the IBIS is set by default to apply to a 50mm lens field of view, and can not be changed, causing more harm than good at longer or shorter focal lengths. I am interested to know if the Megadap has fixed these issues with Voigtlander and Zeiss Loxia lenses.

But I wonder if this adapter work with the Leica m to s af adapter from fotodiox?

I have a bunch of Sony gm lens, does it work on the Nikon Z9?

Great review Richard , I already have the Techart TZE-01 adapter but i'm interrested to know wich one is better in term of Autofocus speed with Sigma Art Lenses . The TZE-01 is quite good with my Tamron Lenses , but he is less good for the autofocus of the Sigma 135mm 1.8 Art. If the autofocus is better optimized on the megadap, i'll buy one to use for my sigma 135mm 1.8 ART lense. Thank you.

Hi, Richard, thanks for your great video! Did you test if the camera IBIS works fine? I have owned this adapter for a few months. I have tried Tamron 28-200, Sigma 28-70. It looks like pictures are blur though I heard the sound showing IBIS in Z7 II is working. Today I updated Nikon Z7 II firmware to 1.31. The adapter works just fine without any issue. Though I have never been to NZ, I know the owner of Auckland Camera very well. We had lunch at HK a few years ago :)

For the cost of a little plastic, they could make a dummy z mount in place of the silly clip. Thanks. Gives another option, especially for those that shoot both Sony and Nikon

Do the Sony 35mm and 50mm OSS work?

Hi there, I’m thinking to get the ETZ21 Pro and the Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 E Mount for my Nikon Z9. I think to do that to save about $400/£300 (instead of buying the Tamron lens with Z mount)and on top of that to have the adapter there in case will need a Sony lens in the future. Can anybody tell me if this is the right decision? If is anybody with experience in this particular matter, I’d be more than happy to know their advice. With this lens I’ll mostly shoot weddings, this being the main reason I’ll buy it. Thanks a lot!

Please make a video about the trio-prime Sigma APS-C Sony e-mount as those have never been mentioned anywhere! I hate that Nikon forgot that a 16mm f/1.4 lens would really elevate their APS-C line in this age of KZfaq…
