She is young - just 18. One of my favorite songs too - generally, I think she's too young for the song. I felt it was OVER sung and equal intensity throughout - no build, no dynamic place to go. Didn't really serve the song well IMO. I didn't like the audition much, but I think they were right to pass her along. Makes me wonder if THEY heard another song we didn't.

She didn't connect with me...for all the reasons you give. She's young, was clearly "looking" focused on her vocal technique, rather than the song itself. Didn't make me feel a thing, and all I was watching was a capable singer, throwing every run in her arsenal at me. Doesn't work for me. And never works, in the longrun, for the Idol audience either.
