I’m a staunch Democrat, I voted for Obama both times, will undoubtedly voted for Biden this fall... But I did respect JohnMcCain. He was the last of a dying breed of Republican; one who put people above party, and loved his country enough to risk his life and get captured for it. I can’t imagine, I don’t WANT to imagine, the strength it took Meghan to give this eulogy; to stand up there and say goodbye to her best friend... I’ll forever respect Senator McCain for in his last act in Congress. When his days were short and the road home too long, he took a stand for this country; breaking with his party to keep healthcare alive for so many of us who need it. That is what being an American Congressman is about. Rest In Peace, John McCain, you will be sorely missed

I am laying here crying because of how deeply I can feel Megan’s pain, yet I can also immensely feel her love for her father. I may not have agreed with his politics, but as a human, a political figure, and a warrior, there is far and few in between what an extraordinary man he was. RIP Senator McCain, may you forever more know peace, love, and light.

@joliecide And rightfully so! Because by showing up, they did nothing but display their willful ignorance of any common decency. Because if they would have had any sense of decency, they would have acknowledged that they're not welcome and politely payed their respects while staying away. But well, that probably wouldn't have fit into their vain PR scheme, which very probably was the only thing those frauds were interested about in the first place: pretending to profit from it, and nothing else.

to all men raising daughters, love them. don’t leave them. whether they’re 8, 18, or 38, don’t ever abandon your role as their father. as an almost 30 year old woman with a father who did abandon her, i listen to this and envy the things she gets to say about her relationship with her father. at the end of the day, that’s what he was to her, her father, her daddy. every little girl deserves that. ❤️

Or maybe, just maybe he's not anywhere because the self has never really existed in the first place. Our memories create a loose approximation of a self, but we know what we call the self is always in flux. I've experienced severe disassociation in my life and came up with my theories . I even once had a split personality before I was conceived. It felt like part of me was floating in my dad's balls and another part of me was floating in my mom's ovaries (scientific term for vajoo stuff). Before that I felt like I was just beaming with potential in 16 people during the 19th century. And before that it get's pretty fuzzy. :)

And in my view, neither Trump nor M. McCain are/were getting at the 'truth'. Americans would do well to reflect critically about her past, look back at various eras of United States history and re-evaluate America’s origins. When, exactly, were we “great”? And let's recall, " Pride goes before destruction."

How could anyone watch this and not cry. Beautiful. I disagreed with John McCain on a lot of things, but I usually always respected him. Same with his daughter. I truly believe that John was a politician who actually did care about all of America, and not just that part that suited his interests, or those like him. He just had a different perspective. Which is fine. And he was willing to work together with those of opposing views. Which is what a Democracy is supposed to be about. Sadly, that hasn't been a part of US/DC politics for many years now. Let's hope that others will show respect for John by being more like him. Can at least hope.

When my father passed away in April of 2021, I remember a number of people (including myself) who eulogized him. In watching Meghan remember her father, the late Senator John McCain, her words hit home in the hearts of every son, every daughter who loved their father and mourn his passing. "Dad I love you, I always have". Words so very true and they bring tears to my eyes. God bless John McCain. He is with the angels now, reunited with his father and his father's father, all who served for the Stars and Stripes.

+michaelgabrielraphael Thx - and yep, you're right. I've never seen a group of people so easily manipulated by imaginary fears - Trump tells them who they should be afraid of, then says he's the only one who can rescue them from those boogeymen. In reality, their fears are mindless, and so is their Golden Calf of a leader. I love the internet, but it makes it too easy for nutjobs to get their conspiracy theories out there to those too gullible to understand the REAL threats this world faces. Like Trump. You don't have to agree with someone's political views, but at least be sympathetic. This girl just lost her father. Anyone leaving a negative comment really needs a hug. Misery loves company, unfortunately. Only losers and folks that hate themselves would say something mean at this time. I feel so sorry for you all. Try to be nice, it'll boomerang back I promise. ❤️

+Betty....did you not notice the anger Meaghan McCain echoed throughout her speech? If anyone made negative comments----it was Meaghan---during her father's eulogy! How inappropriate is that?!?

Yes let's FOREVER remember the man.... as an American with a free voice and yes the Euology touched me as much as the speakers & audience invited in good company to speak I too in concert have the following message to convey: Gen'rals gathered in their masses, Just like witches at black masses Evil minds that plot destruction, Sorcerer of death's construction In the fields the bodies burning, As the war machine keeps turning Death and hatred to mankind, Poisoning their brainwashed minds Oh Lord yeah Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role for the poor, yeah Time will tell on their power minds, Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess, Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah Now in darkness world stops turning, Ashes where the bodies burning No more War Pigs have the power, Hand of God has struck the hour Day of judgement, God is calling On their knees the war pigs crawling, Begging mercies for their sins Satan, laughing, spreads his wings Oh Lord yeah

I was thinking the same thing. The Republicans sitting there letting Trump get away with his destruction of our country should be ashamed and embarrassed. When she said the line about Making America Great Again, I hope their brains exploded a bit

Train Magic you will go away and all of you do squirm. McCain called you and your orange leader out and showed the world how your kind that states they are so patriotic are just scared little boys and girls. McCain was my kind of Republican, he put our country first, spoke the truth, and did not use false information or scare tactics to win the votes of uneducated Americans. You sad excuses for “conservatives” will continuously be called and weeded out. Our country has no place for you.

Senator McCain made America proud and the founding fathers more proud when he stood firm and was spontaneous yet GENUINE grabbing the microphone from a lady full of ignorance, despair and sounded defeated accusing president Obama as being " an Arab ", as if to be an Arab was a dishonor or something to be ashamed of. Instead, Senator McCain stood tall and kept calm and gave his best answer EVER while on the campaign trail in 2008!!! That's the America that I LOVE and will defend!!! Rest in PEACE senator John Sydney McCain.

Songbird and his warped daughter that spoke so full of hate and revenge screaming how her father was about LOVE...what a joke, he was an opinionated bias liar traitor mess in congress and his song he wanted played at the end of the FIRST service in AZ said it all I DID IT MY WAY.....YUKE. You can see how warped and self centered this bunch of wealthy rich family is and McCain did nothing but show his true colors. Thank God it is over for now wait until Cindy or sicko Meagan (that didn't want to work) gets to serve for the next 2 yrs because the selfish McStain would not resign from the Senate ON PURPOSE.

Very moving and heartfelt and an antidote to the noise from DC. I am not sure this country needs great citizens as much as it needs citizens who strive to do simple, decent acts of goodness and kindness and who will, when necessary, show the courage and integrity to stand up to ignorance and cruelty. McCain was a good American and that's enough for me.
