So, what can we learn from the actions of Roddie Bryan? First and foremost, sometimes it is best to mind your own business. Secondly, everything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law means just that. Roddie could have passed himself off as the perfect murder witness, but by telling the police that he blocked Mr. Arbery’s attempts to escape and helped to box him in, it made him an accomplice to the crime.

From listening to other parts of testimony I think under Georgia law a person DOESN'T HAVE TO STEAL ANYTHING to be guilty of BURGLARY only to ENTER a dwelling WITH THE INTENTION.TO STEAL something. I can only guess this covers the case where a burglar is interrupted, drops the swag and flees empty handed - thus didn't actually take anything but is still guilty of burglary. Or something similar. I agree that the defense attorneys tactics are despicable. By the fact that the judge recognizes this they damage their own defense, thankfully.
