Amateur boxing is for brawlers, judges more often than not always favor the brawlers regardless of who is being more effective. This Irish guy looks to be of great potential, with great boxing skills, good footwork, and allround ring generalship. We might very well be looking at a pro boxing star of the future.

Thanks Conor,well even after watching that I think the Russkie landed lots of shots ..and to me (being unbiased ) i think the commentaters are biased and he must have had a direct feed,.He may have made niktitin miss a few shots,there is no way he boxed his ears off

I can see why he went off at the Olympics. The Olympics was at least the 2nd time he felt shafted. This one was closer than the Olympics fight.

Thanks for that link Conor. Just watched it muted, and I believe the judges scored it honestly. I think Conlan was more active, but Nikitin won the first and third (both of which were very close). Ultimately, in the third round I watched Conlan miss a number of combos which Nikitin landed significant counter shots. That's what won it for him in the third round. First round could have gone either way.

although this is not the fight from the Rio Olympics I thought Nikitin won the fight but the not the first round as the judges gave it to him Nikitin won the third round and the second round was up for grabs but the first round was definitely Conlan's but he started to fight Nikitin's fight he shouldve boxed on the outside and used the ring and picked Nikitin apart
