So many people write off Ginny as annoying so it's refreshing to see someone who recognizes how she has been affected by having Georgia as a mother. Just because Georgia has been through a lot herself it doesn't mean she gets a free pass to do whatever. I'm really happy that you're going to watch the next season as well since the dynamic between Ginny and Georgia is explored more thoroughly.

she could be a flawed person without being so annoying, the cringe writing messed it up. they went for flawed but likable but instead she just ended up being straight up insufferable.

Right....as someone who was raised by a young, immature mother, I empathize with her SO MUCH. I don't find her annoying AT ALL. I understand where every reaction she has comes from. Ginny has always had to be the mature "adult" in their relationship. Its exhausting for a child to play adult their whole life. Been there, done that 😅

I've had dissociation since high school. I call it 'feeling far away'. like I'm living slower than everyone else. it happens when I get anxious and stressed. it used to frighten me but I just get myself out of the stressful situation if I can.

Really liked your comment about how much trauma can seem like it is so ingrained in who we are, but our responsibility is still crucial, and awareness of the consequences of our actions. Regarding dissociation, for me I think it's about avoidance, and I'm only able to look into it and process it once I'm more grounded afterwards. To see whether it was a specific trigger, or anxiety that I have been denying. I sometimes can feel myself slipping into dissociation, where my eyes are out of focus, things are fuzzy around me, and I have to work hard to try to bring myself back. Thank you for your continued insight and compassion in your videos, it's much appreciated!

I've been diagnosed with c-ptsd, panic disorder and multiple dissociative disorders associated. Best way I can describe dissociation is like viewing the present through in a space in the brain instead of experiencing it through your body. I experience lots of different types of dissociation: Derealisation is a separation from reality, like watching a movie instead of being in the action itself: you can see it happening and may have a reaction, but it's not as strong as experiencing it yourself and once the scene changes or the movie is over and you leave the theater, it doesn't stay with you for long and you can't remember certain scenes or the finer details Depersonalisation is like being in the wrong body: your reflection may look familiar but something is obviously wrong, you can feel but it's dulled, you're suddenly not used to your body's proportions or movements Dissociative amnesia is where you have periods of memory loss, for me this is both long periods of my life when I was undergoing long term trauma (the good and the bad are cut out so to have a sort of leveling) and much shorter periods like a few minutes/hours where I'm usually on "autopilot" (mindlessly watching tv or doing a very repetitive task like folding clothes) or I could be simply staring off into space not reacting to anything

Elliott, you seem so sweet! I have really been enjoying your videos. Like I commented on your last video, for some reason I find Austins storyline very interesting. It kinda feels like he has the potential to cause some real harm when he grows up if he doesn't get help.

I used to dissociate when I has BPD episodes. I was aware of my surroundings but couldn't take in anything that was being said to me. As I've got more insight and had therapy which has helped decrease the amount of episodes I have.

I would describe dissociation as a disconnect from yourself and your surroundings, as opposed to depersonalization, which is more of a disconnect of your mind from your body (I’ve described depersonalization as watching yourself from a camera inside or losing your soul, whereas dissociation is more like being unable to “zone in,” being constantly on the edge of sensory overload, or having trouble tracking with or focusing your eyes). There are so many ways you can see it, but I guess the most common are obviously sensory detachment, emotional detachment, flat affect, feeling vague or detached from reality, feeling like your body isn’t real, but also sometimes sensory overstimulation and high affect as you try to overcompensate for the problem. Edit: I also forgot hyperfocus as you try to forget about the problem or inability to focus as you can’t connect to the rest of the world.

Depersonalization is actually a form of dissociation. Dissociation is a broad class of feeling psychologically detached which includes depersonalization and derealization amongst other such feelings.

Dissociation (without Googling, so I'm probably wrong) is a break from reality. This is brought about by an instinctual response to a stimuli. It can be fear, anger, rage or any base emotion that is not proportional to the stimuli Ways it's brought about PTSD Neuro linguistic programming All Irrational fears (I was so scared of heights that I couldn't stand up inside the Empire State Building, that was a fun date)

From at least some of these clips I can identify with ginny, having a very divergent mom whose lifestyle was a constant downward spiral while I was growing up and feeling like you're the adult cuz your mom sure isn't.

I've been using dissociation as a coping skill since I was a kid (childhood trauma), but the height of dissociating was my freshman year of college. At that time, I was always walking around in a fog, and I often would go on "autopilot" for significant lengths of time. I'd sit through classes, drive to and from work, and interact with people and then feel like I "woke up" and couldn't quite remember how I got home or what I'd done. That was 20 years ago. These days my stress levels are much lower because I isolate, but most of the time the best way I could describe how I feel is like a computer with a screensaver. Lights on, occupancy questionable lol

Can daydreams be a part of disassociation? I don't have PTSD but I have trauma and when something triggers me to go back to that memory/moment, it's a lot like those involuntary daydreams, tho not as bad/overwhelming/I still feel like I have control/basically just intrusive thinking I've had daydreams that I forget are daydreams, kinda like an actual dream, one where it quickly became a nightmare I couldn't leave until I died, I think I was out for 10 minutes? So it wasn't that bad considering, it was just scary, and coming back to reality and all, like most times I kinda lose awareness like that, I was walking my dog at the time, weirdly enough I had some memory of how I got where I was tho, unlike another time I got lost in my thoughts but just normal thoughts/daydream stuff, and I woke up and had no clue how I got there lol. Sounds worrying but this only happened a few times and it doesn't happen anymore cuz I know how to handle it, I play music on headphones so I can stay present and aware enough I prefer daydreaming where I'm still present and kinda conscious of my surroundings thank you very much Tho for the most part, I don't get lost in them that much. Daydreaming is so useful normally, I can get through a whole shift and not be too bored to function or even that exhausted mentally. Tho thinking about it it's probably not normal to spend every waking moment even somewhat idle daydreaming, but then it's way better than thinking about other stuff, like anxious stuff right? tho it also does stand to be said that when I first started, my idle daydreams got very self-harm-y, but now I'm good so the progress I've made really shows with where my mind goes when it's idle, now I'm just making moments/stories of stuff I've read, basically fanfic daydreams Another thing I find fascinating about disassociation is how central that is to DID, misunderstandings and the old name for it means most, including me in the past, didn't know that's kinda how it works, dissociative amnesia Watching moon knight really helped me want to do my research again, also if you want other media there's a character in an anime that has a form of DID that I can assume is done very well, the anime is called Rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai, despite the name it's quite look into different psychological problems in these teenagers and how they're manifested supernaturally, I recommend

Is there a gay super hero yet? Not just one that someone said "let's make them gay this time," for the publicity, but one with their own tragic back story, and motivations to say, "violence doesn't solve everything, but it's going to solve this." Like they're coming home from the pub with their partner and a group of Neo Nazis beats them into a coma. The hero wakes up with the ability to kick ass,(will work on that power later,) but their honey bun is still stuck hovering between life and death. With the help of a super secret Mossad agent, they get a suit and some gadgets, and go on a 45 minute long rampage. They ain't Captain America either, they want to kill those supremacist bastards, and oh boy do they. We're talking NC-17 level blood and gore, but it's okay because they're Nazis. Then something happens, they suffer a devastating defeat, and all hope seems lost. It's not over yet though, the entire LGBTQ A community rallies to their side, and 20 more minutes of ultra violence on their head shaven nemeses follows. Then it ends with the battle won, but war still lies ahead... a-bald-evil-head. I guess you could tone the violence down some, but I definitely want to see some Nazis bleed. Many of my earliest memories are playing "Escape From Castle Wolfenstein," and I'm feeling nostalgic today.
