Mercedes Benz ML 350 2006-2011 intake manifold replacement.

Hello everyone. Today I’m working on a 2010 Mercedes Benz ML 350 and I’m replacing the intake manifold because of a cracked runner control diagram lever. It caused the Check engine light to come on and was a bit sluggish in performance. The fix is to replace the intake as a whole. No serviceable parts for the runner control system available. This vehicle being 12 years old with 112,000 miles, a new manifold is the only way. Many moving parts that dry up, brittle and gum up over time are in and on this manifold. Hope you enjoy!

I took the intake out of mine,opened up the clamshell. Ported and polished the long/short runners,cleaned/smoothed out casting inside, ported the throttle, and the motor WOKE UP! You can find intakes in the junk yard all day. Easy to clean up

Yes that’s entirely possible. I’ve done that too, but for the guy that wants his stock performance back and his check engine light off, replacing the manifold is the only way to go. Especially when dealing with plastic parts that are known for breaking. I cleaned out one of these manifolds for a friends C class. He had no check engine light to begin with and all the plastic runners were intact. I would never do it for a paying customer at my shop. Thanks for the comment. Hope you’re subscribed!

Great Video man, now time to tackle my dad's 2012. They have actuator parts available, is it possible to just replace broken arm and actuator or the intake is the only way to fix problems completely.

Thanks for the kind words good sir.. yes-the only way to properly fix the actuators and arms is to replace the manifold. Remember, what those actuators and arms are moving are the plastic manifold runners.. which after a decade are full of carbon, gunk and are brittle. Don’t replace the broken actuators with china or the like copies only to have them fail or the runners to break. No one likes doing any job twice. Replace the complete Intake Manifold from Mercedes Benz or the Peirsburg I’m using here which makes it for Mercedes. 👊🏼

How much work is involved for you to replace my 2011 ML350 intake with an OEM part? I am impressed on how you work. Can it be done in one day? I am in Central NJ. Please advise. Thank you.

It takes about 3 hours of labor to do. From where you are to my shop is a long drive. We could take care of it, but I wouldn’t be till around the 3rd week of July. We are very busy. Thank you for your kind words and being a subscriber. Much appreciated.
