Tried the magic hand technique. No luck. 3 hours later it’s on the bench, make sure you have a good selection of 1/4 inch extensions, lots of patience and take care with the vacuum lines and their routing. I used a heat gun to gently warm them and they popped straight off. Mark them and put them back on in the same order. And I had to take the power steering pump out the way on the model I was working on. Aside from those little bumps in the road it’s all smooth so far. Great video. Glad you took the time to make it. Much appreciated. I owe you a beer my friend.

My EGR valve/cooler and pipe needs a good cleanup as well the inlet manifold pipe and throttle valve. I’ve managed to get all those parts out (all of these parts mentioned are as shown in your video). I’m really not looking forward to reassembling them. Your advice would be highly appreciated.

Hi Mercman, your videos are very much appreciated, there aren't many other sources for Mercedes CDI engine repairs. I have a 2011 C250 CDI Estate with 181K miles, owned from new, I have done all the servicing and repairs after the warranty expired, using Mobil1 every 10K, rather than waiting for the service indicator every 14-15K and thankfully it has been pretty bullet proof, apart from #2 injector copper washer recently failing, which I replaced (all), which went well apart from nearly all the leak-off pipe connectors snapping! But like one of the other comments, I also have a small oil leak down the passenger side of the engine, which I assume is from the oil filter housing seals, or something in that area, but its difficult to see the exact source and watching your video it seems a real pain in the a*** to get to that area, with the Power Steering Pump & AC compressor on that side. As the oil loss is small, would you watch and wait or is it fairly simple to access these seals, without taking the oil cooler off? Also, looking at the EGR pipes you just pulled, did you feel the need to clean them off, whilst you were there, or did you leave that for another day?

I’d really love and appreciate if you could make a video step by step of removing the EGR valve and cooler, cleaning it and resembling it. I saw some steps of removing the cooler in this video but if you did an in-depth step by step, that would be amazing as I would love to clean mine but worried of taking it out and not having the right video guidance to put it back together and there is currently no videos on KZfaq focusing on the egr valve and cooler removal and cleaning for the OM651

Hi i have this issue my car doesnt have any issues otherwise . Except for slight oil in coolant no way near as bad as that what would you advise.. I have flushed the coolant several times but you can stil see oil inside.. Car has 107kmiles And has been parked for a long time since making use of it again

The oil cooler on my w204 keeps failing every year or so. In the last 3-4 years i have changed it 3 times. Last year i have visited mercedes workshop where the did all the labour in changing it and yet last month i had to change it again do a leak in the coolant tank. The workshop said they cannot cover it as no warranty is provided. Went to a different mechanic outside mercedes where he bought the original cooler and installed it. Is there any insights as why this keeps happening?

Hey I have an om651 and there is Oil in the coolant but also coolant in the oil, could it be this fault ? I'm out of money and this is pretty bad I hope you can tell me..

These can leak oil too from the seals on the cooler. I've had it with mine but it didn't leak from the oil filter housing it was the black end of the cooler with a loaded spring in for the oil pressure switch at 0:46 seconds in on the video. If you order cooler seals this isn't listed unded the usual 5 seals you get for the cooler and isn't on the EPC ( electronic parts catalogue ) for mercs. I took mine off and replaced the seal and then sealant too as its a pig of a job and ive done it 3 times to find my leak!

How may miles on that engine ? I've replaced my cracked intake and while i was doing the job i've replaced the oil filter and cooler seals. I don't even want to think about opening again just to replace a cracked cooler. It's this a common issue ?

Hi bro . Before i change the oil coller i have little oil in water radiator but no water in inside of the engine . After i changed the oil coller the probleme comes again and this one, the water enter inside the engine 😢 and i see soooo much oil mix with water radiator ..plz give me solution.?
