You'll know as well as I do, a V6 CDi can be disconnected, lifted/manhandled out of a W211 or 221 in a matter of a few hours. These units are a nightmare in comparison. Hi, question. My vehicle needs timing chain replaced. How do I know my guides need to be changed too? I know In the video you found a piece of the guide but what if you haven’t found a piece. Will the vehicle not run if guides are broken? Also, if it’s not the guides and I replace timing chain, would it be a case where guides will break eventually?

What year did they upgrade the chain tensioner as the older ones have two oil holes. New ones have 4? The new ones stopped the chain issue I heard? I'm just wondering weather to get the upgraded tensioner.. or of my mercedes already has the upgraded one in?

Hi, my E250 cdi W212 AC is not working and check engine light is showing on the dash board, is it a major problem sir, could I fix it myself?

If the chain is left, snapped or slipped will it cause valve damage or will it miss

I have a 2015 e250 bluetec does this engine have the same issue for timing chain?

We replaced timing chain and service belts after refurbishing the engine head. At first the engine was running well but after it started to make a strong ticking noise on the engine head. We checked timing and it was perfect. The computer tells us that gasoline pressure is OK and apparently the high-pressure pump is working fine. What we noticed is that the camshaft olives have been worn after putting the engine back together. The main issue is the loss of power and now we have to deal with this ticking noise as well. There were no cracks in the engine head and the cylinders are perfect. We replaced the inlet airflow motor. We replaced the air pressure sensor and the TPS sensor. Nothing! What is going on? There are no cracks in the exhaust manifold and the turbo is running fine. Intercooler pipes are a fine. The main problem was the loss of power and we couldn’t figure out what it was so we opened the engine. After refurbishing everything the problem is still there but there is no check engine light and no sensor error. What’s going on?

In my opinion the start/stop system causes most of the problems with the chain stretching !

How many kilometers did this engine have when you replaced the timing chain. My 2011 C250 has 265000 kilometers and never had problems with timing chain or tensioners (i better knock on some wood)

Hi there. I have a 2015 E220 With this engine. On a cold start my engine does not sound like this but does have a slight ticking noise like tappets and goes away after a few seconds and the engine sounds smooth and normal. Its covered 108k. Any ideas please.

I've done my timing chain and guides aswell and now i have a rattle coming from the vacuum pump. With the engine idling when i press hard on the brakes it rattles 🤣

Not lnly chain does wear but also sprockets. Do change them out too.

The OM651 is a faulty production! OM646 is the Best.

Bro you done very difficult way its better to down the engine and gearbox with subframe with radiator also so that you need to drain only engine oil and gearoil
