This video shows how to rebuild the troublesome raw water pump on Mercury MerCruiser inboard I/O engines. These pumps have inherent design flaws which leasd to feqent service. These pumps are very expensive to replace. Very popular on V8 and V6. With a few tools and a press you can save hundreds of dollars and get you back on the water in no time!

Awesome Video Thanks! I enjoyed the "you gotta be careful" comment about sizing the puller tool and then out comes the hammer for a pulley beat down. You are a True Pro though for instructions.

I have always hated Mercury raw water pumps. The plastic housing always cracked where the hose went on at. Glad Hardin Marine came up with a fix, 316L stainless steel raw water pump. If you boat in the saltwater like me, you'll like it even more.

Many people don’t know they are rebuildable and go out and buy a Hardin when these are great pumps.

Great video only thing I wish you would’ve open those instructions. Mine don’t have a spacer between the bearings, and I was wondering if there is a spot certain distance between them

Original pumps didn't have a spacer. I always measure them before I take it apart.

Hi, great video. Could you please advise what the thread size is for the shaft internal thread. I'm trying to find a puller kit to refit the pulley. Believe its metric size?

It's just a normal power steering puller.

Anybody know where to order than impeller driveshaft kit? My google searches are showing discontinued or sold out
