This is actually good for hand conditioning in general, not just striking. Masahiko Kimura used this or something close to it as one of the methods for stronger grips he lacked in judo matches. Needless to say he's one of the best judokas who ever walked the planet and yeah he ragdolled Helio Gracie, one of the founders of brazilian jiu jitsu. That says a lot.. :)

Opening the hand is by far the most important thing to me. Opening the hand under resistance is something that rarely ever happens to us humans. When doing this in sand or rice, all the little muscles on the back of the hand get taxed tremendously.

@@IronBodyMartialArts definitely! I take that approach with my normal strength training. If you're familiar with KneesOverToesGuy (check him out if not. Tendon and supporting muscle focus to bulletproof joints and really raise athleticism), I combine his program with gymnastics strength training for my upper body for a holistic, athletic approach, but this is definitely a missing piece. It actually does toughen your hands, it's not fake. My master just gave me that book as a joke and used it as a way to get me actually do this training for months. Many people wont believe me but i lost an ability that I had developed over 2 years. every day when I went to school we had this hallway by the locker rooms where all the walls were made of 100 percent solid stone. kids in my school would do fist fights where they would punch each others fist until one quit. what i was doing was punching that stone wall, at first i would jab it. it would hurt with a sharp pain but it would soon go away and i would jab it again. i did this day after day and i noticed my hand went numb to the point i felt no pain even after 5 or 6 jabs on the stone. i had to hit the stone much harder if i wanted to feel pain. it felt almost as if i was wearing a glove after a while cause my knuckles hardened. I had to punch solid stone or steel to feel pain after a while if i punched softer stuff it would do nothing to me, people would quit if they played fist fights with me cause i didn't feel pain easily. i only developed this on one hand. the other hand was normal and would hurt like crazy if i punched the wall. i got into a fight and jabbed the guy 1 time cause i wanted to scare him out of the fight cause he was 2 inches shorter than me and i felt like i could hurt him but didn't want to feel bad cause i never been the type to enjoy hurting someone over something dumb. i really didn't want to hurt him so i didn't throw any hay makers or anything. the guy started wobbling and his legs turned into noodles after just 1 jab. he was out on his feet. i thought the guy was acting. i had developed the iron fist technique and didn't know it until years later. i saw a documentary of some kung fu old man who punches steel. i had not reached steel level but i was one level under it doing concrete. i didn't do it for years and my knuckles are normal. dont do this to hurt people or i will practice again and find you and knock you out. if you do this do it for your own wellbeing and exercise. dont do evil. this stuff really works. i theorize that i was creating micro fractures on my knuckle bones and each time the body healed it would make them thicker and stronger each time. and my bones grew thicker and stronger. same as your muscles get torn down and built bigger and stronger when you lift weights. so yes these kung fu exercises work for real. i am have done it myself. but you have to put in the work and be patient cause it doesn't happen over night. during the time my knuckles were hardened it was as if i had knuckle dusters on aka brass knuckles.

Did your hands got thicker? Particulary your fingers or wrist? Did anything grow ?
@IronBodyMartialArts

Yes over the course of years. Your fingers hands and wrists will get stronger and you will notice growth in forearms most quickly, in the muscles at first.

Thanks for the video. If you take a limestone and soak it in water then it will become weaker. Take it out of the water and dry the surface and then smash it with your fist and it breaks easily. Give one of these iron palm masters a western brick and they won’t be able to break it. The point is that how do we know how strong your hands really are. Is there a way to prove it?

Bro. I have a vid from a few years back me bending rebar with strikes. How do you fake that. Take a look. Infact. A clip from it is on my channel intro vid. So just check that. Then the full vid can be found. To prove its not a set up.

@@IronBodyMartialArts I didn’t mean to offend. I accept that hitting steel is proof. You know you could glue a strain gauge to a bar and measure the force your hitting it with. I can post you some strain gauges but you will need a battery and volt meter to measure the strain. If I get time I can post a video to show you how to do it if your interested.

Hi. Does it also help when your fists clash with someone else’s fist? Does this strengthen your knuckles? story: last week I and my friends went to mess around in the school hallways. we did playfights and one day we threw a punch at the exact same time. Our fists clashed and afterwards I got a feeling of pain, but also a feeling of getting a strong sensation in my knuckles. My skin was irritated for the 2 days after. It was a pretty cool scenario and it felt like I was in a dragon ball fight.
