A lot of people on here are talking about Doug's 'unattractiveness'. He seems like a really good guy and, yes, he became more attractive as she and we all (in watching the show) got to know him. He seems patient, kind, and dotes on her; is willing to make her happy. I think he deserves a good woman and if she is good to him, then it's a good fit.

I love this couple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of how i felt about my husband at first... I thought he was cute but the more I got to know him the more attractive he was and my love for him is so deep because it wasn't based on superficial things. We are going on 13 years. I pray jamie and doug have a long life together !

I agree with Doug on building a foundation before kids. I think they do have a good relationship so build on that. Once kids come into the picture, you have less time to focus on each other BC the baby takes up most of your time. He's pretty wise in doing this and thinking things through instead of just saying yes to everything she wants.

Doug's personality is great. He's so sure of himself, comfortable with himself and with other people. I liked him right off, but Jamie only saw his moles and lazy eye. A person can become beautiful to you if they say the right things and their personality is beautiful.

@@darlenepaul2934 agree..something at the wedding was keeping his “shine” down. He didn’t seem like himself. It might have been nerves. He is very good looking though. I think she was just kind of hit with reality all of a sudden when she finally saw him. It’s easy to start to have all sorts of fears and misconceptions about a person you’re meeting on a blind date- could you imagine agreeing to marry?! I think people aren’t being sympathetic enough to how she reacted. They make a great couple which I think is due to his extraordinary personality. He really cares for her and takes care of her like a man should.

YES he has/had moles. But he is NOT unattractive and never was, quite the opposite. He is tall, has a great looking body (not overly muscular), sweet eyes, great humor, good confidence (even in the presence of someone like Jamie who looks like a model) AND seems to have a gentle and caring heart in general. I have NO idea why they chose to put him in that wedding tux, and on top of that lift his hair with gel when he has a reseeding hairline ! He looked much better on the honeymoon. However most importantly: He seems like the type of person who would cherish and support her, regardless of time, ageing, sickness and whatever else they will be put through in time.

He is attractive, but what makes him even more so, is his incredible personality. He is so patient, he doesn't take things personally, he's humble and funny, with just the right amount of self- deprecation. He was a great catch! I am so glad Jamie finally saw the light! His parents are lovely people.

Best way to learn how to swim is jumping to the pool. Best way to learn about marriage is to get married at first sight. Best way to start family is to get pregnant. Jamie is totally right, you've 9 months to be ready, that is the best way to know each other and be ready to be daddy/mom. Congrats for your pregnancy.

Okay, My parents had arrange married. But, things are different in our culture. So, marriage is arranged though someone whom they knew and their is no monetary benefits are involved. Hence, you do out of Goodwill. Both my parents saw the pics of each other and then my Dad came to visit my mom's house. He liked my Mom and he spoke to her in front of everyone. My mom's family did a very detail background check abt my Dad and his family. They liked him and more importantly his family. They were then married. They were married till my Dad passed away in 2009. When I ask my mom, was she happy with her marriage and she said, I couldn't have any better person than him. My dad always encouraged in everything my mom ever wanted to do on the other hand, I saw my mom always beside my dad when he fell sick. They were made for each other.

Arrange marriages are not that bad. People in the West find it weird when a Muslim or Asian couple go through a arrange marriage. This program has proved it. Even with choice of marriage succeeds or fails.

I didn't watch the show but I follow them a bit now. I hate how they keep talking about how she wasn't attracted to him.. I mean, maybe he just wasn't the typical kind of guy she dated. That could make you not "attracted" to someone if they just aren't what you envisioned being with for your life.. In real life, someone might not be your "type", but you deeply love them by your wedding day so you've already got past that by the wedding day. She clearly has seen him for who he is and that made her love him and be attracted to him.

A baby takes time and effort, and makes it hard to get to know one another, since it requires a LOT of attention. I think Doug is doing the smart thing and waits, especially, taking in consideration, how they meet. They are still youngish, and can wait a few years.

+Les Fe That the whole thing with marriage, patience. Jamie reminds me of myself. When i look back on past relationships I was'nt always attracted to my exes right away. Lookwise they where not my type. As I got to know them and we became friends I felt more and more attracted to them. It takes a good looking guy to make a woman blush, but it takes a gentleman to make her fall in love.

Les Fe I did not date many men I was'nt attracted to. Just a few hahaha. And it's not really that I was'nt attracted to them at all, but just not at first sight. With me 99% of the time I don't find someone attractive right away. Even tough common opinion would be that that person is attractive. To me personality matters more. If someone does'nt really look my type at first but knows the key to my heart, attraction can grow. If someone is believed to be handsome but our personality's don't match then I still would'nt be attracted to that person. But don't understand me wrong: it was'nt like I was dating guys I found dead-ugly. I understand she looked hard to deal with, but from a woman's point of view I understand her. Even tough I cringed watching her at first. I think men and women are diffrent regarding to looks. (Most) men need to feel attracted to a woman right away. They won't give her a second look if she does'nt look their type. For us women it's different. If you're not our type lookwise, but still look dateable and we get to know you better it's possible we fall in love with you. Just like Jamie did. For (most of) us personality and how you treat us is more important then what you look like. Now she wants his kids even tough she did not like him at first. It's not settling for less, but falling in love with SOMEONE not what they LOOK LIKE. Looks are relative. Someone can get third degree burns and then you still have to love that PERSON.
