After all my health issues and the huge difference that adopting Keto has made I think a lot of points are relevant. Overall I think the key issues are low carbohydrates/sugars, low seed oils in particular, low oxalates. I think a lot of myths exist and the need for fiber is one of them. I went carnivore for a while and found no real issues at all - amazing as it seemed so stupid when taken in context of the food pyramid I grew up with (indoctrinated with in reality). I typically have a 16hour food fast each day - just not hungry. Two meals a day and if I do snack it is on home dehydrated meat. Feel much healthier, mentally more alert and no depression. No problem eating at home but really difficult when out to avoid the oils/cabs.

Very few are fit & the parents for the most part are even worse. Look like they’re auditioning to play Santa. And when sitting at the pool the moms are all drinking frozen drinks & the kids eating fries & nachos & big cups of soda.

I’m in love she’s brilliant. I’ve never heard anyone articulate the American health crisis better than she has. We can thank the Nixon administration. This is when it all started the brilliant idea of commercializing the food processing we had hundreds of dairy meat, packing companies farms, and now they’re all commercialized and turned into an industrial processing.

"Our bodies are rebuilding themselves every day, and the body we had a year ago is molecularly different than it it today, we're a dynamic process constantly rebuilding, " "The reality is we're "We need to be giving our bodies the molecular information to function properly and that it means moving back to unprocessed food ..." "It always starts with food because we are 100% molecularly made from food... since our cells are totally made from food, we have to get it right." Its not about a particular "diet", getting healthy and having energy will be found when we move away from processed food--she says 70% of our diets are processed food. Thank you, Dr Means and thank you, Jesse. 🎉

I have been doing Carnivore for almost two years. I'm 61 years old now. Many people lauding Carnivore have stated that this diet should include plenty of fat, but not seed oil, saturated like ghee and the natural fat in meat. Eating zero carbs, I have been eating a lot of meat. Mainly chicken, but then introduced pork and beef. I have witness by Liver enzymes (ALT primarily) gradually raise up over this time with three blood tests. It seems it is either because of the fat or the protein. I'm betting the fat though. Be careful NOT to over do fat intake, maybe very little as it seems to make sense the liver cannot handle so much for some people.

Not eating an animal doesn't mean it doesn't die, they all die. Better for an animal to live a healthy, happy, natural life outside and be killed humanely for food rather than become old and diseased and incapable. Plus, if you eat an animal and work to make the world a better place, then the animal's life goes into making the world a better place. It becomes a part of that process by giving you life and the opportunity to make life better for all life.

I'd say shes only partly right, like how last time she only ate plants. Shes learning which is good but shes not quite there. Fasting isnt good, sure you lose weight but you also put your body under strees and its not an optimal way to go about it. Another is fructose, it isnt bad as long as it comes with glucose. The test and data on fructose is mostly done on rats which is different liver than humans and pure fructose. Then saying keto is good when long term keto causes insulin resistance. She did have corrected about mitochondrial disfunction being the issue. When the cell is damaged it can't oxodize glucose into ATP aka turn glucose into energy. Even if you bring down insulin levels the glucose still can't be used properly. What she also got right is a whole food diet with the correct good carbohydrates and proteins and stay away from PUFAs aka seed oils and omega 3s like fish oil on a shelf which is highly oxodized and horrible for you. Just eat from nature like we've always done. Want more omega 3? Eat sea food, which now is full of micro plastics so limit the amount.

Keto does not cause insulin resistance. It keeps it low. Fructose is toxic. Small amounts in whole food can be handled fine as it is consumed slowly and with fiber and polyphenols to protect you from the negative effects. Glucose doesn't protect you from fructose. It being in solid food and being with fiber and antioxidants protects you from it.

You shoukd he lifting weights on your extended fasts to give your body the signal that you need the muscle. You aren't getting that signal from protein because you aren't consuming it, so you need to give your body another stimulus.

11 eating events 😮 that's insane ! -I was really into what she was saying until she made a lame excuse to leave plant based. There's so much bias (mine included) around diet and what's correct, I agree, no matter what you do, do it from the heart and look into the ethical approaches, BUT that said, anyone toting that you can't live a metabolically healthy life style if you are 100% plant based is completely inaccurate. -Jesse, never knew you are a Canadian ! That makes me like you even more ! Honestly your channel is amazing and I love the space you create for your guests and the very thought provoking questions... I also think it's amazing you ask for so much clarity. 🤗 What is your opinion on the Canadian health system? Personally, I think we are decades behind, most Drs are not eduxsted in new literature, most Drs won't even do basic testing...without a patient being SO sick. Our medical system is not based off of preventative care and unfortunately (in BC anyways) we have 900k without a family GP-- which is disgusting. -Does anyone know if the Yves product is considered a highly processed protein ? As a vegetarian family I do have to be creative sourcing protein to get enough amino acid but also iron and B12 and it's true... That in itself has been a struggle. We started on soy based protein replacements about 6 years ago, never did before hand and honestly... I've noticed a change in body composition and an increase in migraines.. I wonder... On the other hand I don't think we need as much protein as what the industry is touting with it's keto craze... Think about all the damage happening to our arteries, our planet and our animals because people think they need copious amounts of protein. Veganism was winning the war... Many people became plant based, that damaged the billions made in animal protein... And now all of a sudden vegans are metabolically unfit ? Ok... It's no better than the pharmaceutical push Lastly, are supplements not highly processed ? Could they be causing more issues than not? And keep in mind people... A LOT of supplements actually DO break the fast. For anyone interested check out Mindy for fasting info.

Labs don't lie. I've been open and tried all the different diets and gave them over 6 months. Maybe vegan is working for you and if so awesome. I really don't find it attractive when people get dogmatic and religious about their way of life. Do what works for you and be happy that we have a choice.
@ChantelStays

@@davidcorbit3931 I'm not being dogmatic, nor saying it's for everyone. And I actually respect everyone for whatever they eat, as really, only we know what's best for us and aligns both physically and mentally. But trying to use animal abuse and environmental impact as an excuse to not be plant based literally makes no sense. ... She should just say "it didn't work for me, I wanted more muscle and anti aging benefits" etc .... THAT I can respect. Honestly about choices and beliefs.

Soy proteins are bad for thyroid. Soy in particular isnt good. I felt much better doing carnivore than I ever did eating vegan. It was amazing but its very hard to stay off carbs indefinitely eventually I would fall off.

@@vr8921 I feel great vegetarian, but I have been most of my life - But I've always eaten with awareness ..90% whole foods ( predominantly green foods) ; but I started that Yves product about 6 years ago and I have noticed issues with migraines during menstrual ( so estrogen based migraines) and have had weight gain....and I literally have symptoms of a bad working thyroid! I'm only now realizing, it's like the damn tofu ... And I don't even like tofu, but you know what, I got scared about not having "enough" protein. So I'll definitely go off of it. Yeah, there's so much conflicting information surrounding carbs, I think the body is happy with carbs if it's coming from the right sources. But everyone is different and it's good you're listening to your body and being aware of what works and doesn't 🫶

Was doing good until she said something positive about plant-based. You can't have optimum metabolic health on only plants. You either have to supplement with meat or industrial chemicals. Most plants have toxins that block nutrient uptake, so even if you try to combine the animal and plant you end up lesser than if you just did animal only.
