Rage Against the Machine are a very political band, they speak out against inequalities of every kind, racism, sexism, homophobia, any kind of minority. They are most vocal about the wealth gap in western nations, about how the US, UK, France etc can all call themselves "civilised nations" when people who are too poor to feed their children live in the same country as people with one billion dollars in their bank account. The 'machine' in their name is the government.

Also, I don't even understand what this means. There are left leaning news outlets, there are right leaning outlets, and there are non-biased centrist ones. Saying that it is about the government is too simplistic. This is about the forces of power, where the government is one tool. There are many forces out there working to manipulate people that are more sophisticated than the government. The government is constitutionally the tool of the people, but it does not always work that way, so who is manipulating the government to their interests?
