The BU is one of the most ambitious and engaging yet freaking confusing storylines I’ve seen. The BU starts before Wings with two albums before and the song I Need You. V’s got one of the most detailed and intense story lines, he really shows his acting ability. The story just pulls you in like a big giant mystery of sound and video. Live version he was so nervous to do his first solo song. He’d never had as much focus in live shows as some of the others so he was just a ball of nerves in backstage footage. He nailed it.

YES, "Stigma" my all time favorite solo song from V!! His voice in this song kills me every single time I hear it and the high notes, OMFG, takes my breath away!! Now John, if you want to "deep dive" into V's voice...you should react to Attack/Rise of Bangtan...he growls!!!! LOL! And "Jump", oh man oh man!! His other solo works are just as awesome!! I met Tae from his performance and OST in Hwarang. Being the Wings era, this was the first song I heard from the BTS discography and since then I'm an Army. V is co-composer and co-writer of this song; in an interview for Weverse Magazine, pointed out that he wrote it thinking of him younger self as a reflection on difficult times he went through due to her decisions, but being part of the BU they also included concepts that incorporate her into the story (although some take their conclusions without understanding that it is part of the BU). V is a baritone with a naturally deep and soulful voice; It also has its own style and great versatility. It has the widest range of the group. If it were a question of describing his voice we would have to point out that it is deep, soulful, sharp, light, moving, sweet, powerful, aggressive, raspy, that it reaches quite high notes (even for some tenors)... Stigma was released in 2016, back then an analysis was published that indicates that its range is 3 octaves 5 tones and 1 semitone. In 2021, reviewing videos on the internet where they analyze their voice during concerts and presentations, they conclude that it reaches 4 octaves.

“Stigma” explores the tragic backstory of V’s fictional self in the BTS Universe. His character is arrested after he kills his abusive father to protect himself and his sister. Although the “Stigma” storyline is fictional, its raw emotion and anguish couldn’t be more real. V’s lyrics express the growing pains of youth as well as a sense of frustration many young people experience. “I wanted to portray someone young,” he said. “still growing up, crying out in anguish-that feeling of wanting to thrash about and tell the world you’re tired and fed up.” .. “Stigma,” however, is just the first chapter in a story, and that story has a happy ending. Tae is very into jazz, old school jazz. He puts a modern spin on it, but he would have fit in so well with the jazz greats from the 40s.

The BU started when I Need U came out in the hyyh era, so a year before the Wings era. The Wings album has its own vibe that’s kind of dark and alluring, which did fit the concept of the BU. V did write the lyrics for Stigma, with ofc others credited as well for their input in it. The lyrics actually fit his character in the BU so well, even Namjoon pointed out the similarities. However the song is also personal to Kim Taehyung in that lyrics respectively. V put his emotions and secrets hidden within the lyrics. The song is art. Everyone has different interpretations for it. Tiny Tim?🥺 Wow - that's a blast from the past; even before my time. But Tip Toe Through The Tulips 🌷is a great song. You are right Tae is an old soul; I think that's why I resonate with him so much. He's not my bias (that's Yoongi), but Tae, and Jimin, are my sub-bias' - leaning over Yoongi's shoulder to give me THOSE Looks (you know what I mean - you've seen them). (The rest of the group is leaning over their shoulders, aiming to move up a row). You can see his old soul, everytime you look in his eyes; in his fashion sense; in everything he does. And it truly makes me smile. And he is a beautiful baritone, but so often we don't get to hear it. Which is such a shame. He usually sings higher to match with the others, which he does beautifully. But when he sings in his natural baritone - that is just... Amazing💜 But then to hit those high notes...💜 I would love to hear Tae sing something like Big Band, or Swing style of music. That's really in his wheel house.💜 I'm not sure what the original, intended meaning of the song was, but it always feels like some apologizing to their siblings for not being there when their siblings needed them. Maybe guilt from following their dreams, and being so distant, almost leaving their siblings behind. Not being the older sibling they wanted to be - that they feel they should have been. His vocals are on point. His range!! He has the widest range in bts. Finally! 😂💜💜 Now you know, now you get it. That boy is a perfectionist and a true artist and I'm absolutely terrified that he'll never be satisfied enough to release his album! I sing early music professionally (Renaissance mostly), I can tell you that counter-tenors are normally baritones. Yep, largest scale range in BTS. It's probably one of the largest in pop music period. Or just period. Because I know his natural baritone voice isn't easy to find, its a diamond in the rough most definitely. Rather hard to find, and so amazing! And I love his jazz infusions, and when I hear him I definitely think something also along the lines of Neo-Soul.

This is my favorite song by Tae. Them VOCALS! The “elephant in the room” is Who and what is Tae talking about….we have ALL wondered that for years now. RM who helped on the song, said that he didn’t even know, and it was Tae’s story to tell.

V grew up with his grandparents till he did the audition and selected as a trainee. So his grandparents raised him for about 14 close to 16 years. His younger brother and sister grew up with his parents. His dad would come over every weekend but he never mention his mother or siblings tagging along. He once told that he is much closer to his BTS members than he is with his own brother and sister. And we all know the BTS members love and care for each other but also are very protective of each other. He never could, being the older brother, do that for his own siblings and he probably felt some guilt because of that. It wasn't his fauld but you can't change what you're feeling, rightly or not. Because of his choice he couldn't be with his grandparents when they past away. Well not how you can be when you have another job. So I think it's about growing up, the struggles and the guilt justified or not. It always crosses my mind when I hear him singing this song. Don't know if it's true or not. RM wouldn't and couldn't explain because he revealed V wrote this song and it wasn't for him to explain and I agree. But the song is a part of the album Wings. Wings has a lot of solo's that makes you think over things.

No he entrado de lleno al BU que se basa en el webtoon "Save Me" y un poco de la sicología de ese libro, pero sobre la sicología de la adolescencia principalmente por lo que mi hija me explica, que es un poco enredado, pero para mí entrar al Universo de BTS es como la canción "Mikrokosmo" que es mi favorita,es como algo de ellos y ARMY y no es malo,es sano ,yo no tenía ganas de vivir así como estaba, pero por temor a Dios no atente contra mí. Cuando vi el drama "hwarang" ahí me interesó BTS ya que como estaba acostada por no poder tener la movilidad de antes veo muchos dramas Coreanos y Chinos . The Bee Gees! Yes! I was a huge fan of theirs for a long time. You just made a connection for me that I hadn't considered.

The BU starts from HYYH Pt. 1 album with the song I Need U. Of course not all the songs in the albums are part of the BU, but when it is, it's always specifically mentioned in the MV. I must say though that the HYYH series, WINGS, and Love Yourself series albums are the ones that have the most connection to the BU. And the craziest thing that really fascinates me about the BU is that it's not only limited to the songs and MVs, you literally have to ingest all their contents to understand what's happening...which is also GENIUS in terms of marketing strategy they're experts in enticing fans to consume everything BTS put out. Apart from the MVs and songs, in order for the fans to understand the BU you have to access the following: 1. All albums because they contain the "notes" that serves as diary excerpts by the characters that the boys are playing, which gives us a glimpse to what they're feeling and thinking. And by all albums, i mean EVERY DAMN VERSION coz it's a different "note" per album version. 2. Then there's "THE NOTES BOOK" which is literally a book that contains all the "notes", BUT! it has other excerpts that you won't find even if you own ALL THE FREAKIN' ALBUMS. This way fans would still have to buy the book in order to make sense of all the notes. 3. Tour / Concert VCRs, whenever they go on tours or have concerts...they always play VCRs in between set of songs as intermissions or sometimes it's an introduction or an ending....these VCRs again are related to the BU which have critical details that would make sense if you relate it to other contents, but you won't be able to know if you don't watch the concert. So another genius marketing strategy. 4. Then there's the Webtoon, a paid webtoon that actually gives fans an actual visual of the whole story. It may guide fans to know what the whole story is about but it still lacks all the drama and inner dialogues and back stories that each character has. You will see clips of the scenes mentioned in the Webtoon in the MVs....so again, even if you read the whole webtoon you are still encouraged to consume all the other contents on other platforms. 5. BTS Universe game, this is a game that is actually about the BU. You have to play this to know how everything went down or why things happened in the first place. A more in-depth understanding of the character's back stories and other stuff that was not revealed in the other platforms will be found here. Until now the BU is still not over, I believe the last BU related MV was FILM OUT and there was supposed to be a K-drama adaptation of the same story but it's not out yet. This is just a summary of what I can even try to explain but It's still a lot, I haven't even included the "Smeraldo" flowers and "Highlight Reels" that are super complicated all on their own but are still related to the BU lol One last thing that blows my mind about their songs is that even if the songs are intended to be related to the BU, they still manage to create it in a way that it still has it's own meaning or message even if you don't relate it to the BU. How incredible is that!
