Madonna is the only pop music I listen to. She is an absolute one of a kind pop artist who is a non conformist. She made me feel I’d be okay growing up as a gay kid. I love watching you discovering her music and vision as a musician

Decades before K-pop or J pop culture came into the mainstream, Madonna's got this out ahead. No one accused her back then of culture appropriation. This was before social media. Such a visionary she was and still is. You should watch her live 1999 Grammy performance of this song. It's quite similar to the video. She does that often.

Asians appreciated her appreciation. Only the west has this appropriation thinking crap. 😅

Madonna wrote this in response to having her first child and how it completely changed her perspective on life. When she started writing her own music around 1985/86, her music got a lot deeper. The record execs would not allow her that control until the success of the Like a Virgin album. Her poppy dance stuff before 1986 is also a lot of fun and worth checking out -- her charisma is off the charts. Great reaction! I agree that you are funny and entertaining. Oh, and handsome too! Cheers.

She wrote a lot of songs on her 1st 2 albums, but didn't have producer control until her 3rd album.

I stand corrected. You are totally right! Although, her biggest hits up to that time "Holiday", "Borderline", "Material Girl" and "Like a Virgin" were written by others. Almost all songs thereafter were written or cowritten by her -- as I am sure you know.@@zanyzander

Practically every Madonna song has hidden secrets to uncover and her videos have a lot of hidden meanings. Lots of Easter eggs that become apparent over many years. A true artist, not only a danceable funster.

The lyrics in this song reflect her feelings on having giving birth to her first child prior and how it affected her life , only having to think of herself. Also, as far as major Grammy awards, this album garnered her,her first four Grammy’s.

Before she was big, she was in punk bands late 70s and early 80s. There are surviving tracks from those days as well.

I've been a fan of Madonna’s since the beginning. However, with her currently being on the "Celebration" tour and watching your reaction videos, I'm rediscovering her vast and diverse catalog of music. I have a new and deeper appreciation. Love your organic reactions not only to getting Madonna but to the comments. Right ✅️ on. You have a great vibe💫. Her opening performance of "Nothing Really Matters" on this tour is iconic! Additionally, the "Live To Tell" performance is a beautiful but bittersweet tribute to her friends and all those who have lost their lives to AIDS. Looking forward to more reaction vids of Madonna. 💯💫✌️

Yes, Madonna is an excellent lyricist. Love this song about her new-found perspective on her life and fame. Mad Ang, has anyone ever told you that you sound like the legendary radio DJ from the 70s, Wolfman Jack?

MADONNA is an amazing dancer and she SSSSSLAYYYYS any look ❤. I love her in black wigs, her facial features are more pronounced. And yes, we fans love to compliment anyone whom is genuinely enjoying our MOTHER our QUEEN....this LIVING LEGEND that is MADONNA. i think that is why we love your reactions so much, you are sensitive and love that you actually use your brain to disect the lyrics. There are many many youtubers that once they react to 1 song and we the fans notice them, they just start watching her videos...but there are no emotions, no understanding of the lyrics...and most importantly her message. Keep going man. ❤

One of my favorite tracks and videos from Madonna. She looks amazing here, her stylist did an incredible job. She was at her apogee here through Confessions on a Dancefloor, in my opinion.❤️

Just subscribed. I've been enjoying your reactions the last couple of days...great reactions and glad that you pick up on the nuances of Madonna's music that casual listeners gloss by. Recommend reacting to Bad Girl...another one of her great storytelling songs/videos. Also worth checking out are Secret, Into the Groove, Music, Deeper & Deeper, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita, Don't Tell Me. Nothing Really Matters video was inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha and has visual representations of all the elements - earth, air, fire and water.

By this time in 1998 (Ray of Light era) her spirituality has evolved from just the narrow, rigid, judgmental dogma of Catholicism into a more encompassing, universal spirituality-the knowledge that there are other paths to achieving true inner fulfillment and happiness. In her search for wisdom and answers, she seriously studied eastern mysticism (Hinduism, Buddhism, Sufism) became a devotee of Kabbalah/Judaism, and practiced daily the discipline of Ashtanga yoga. Also in 1996, she finally realized her wish of motherhood by giving birth to her daughter, Lourdes. These completely changed her perspective and priorities in her life and career that influenced her music and artistry. In this song, the line-everything I give you/all comes back to me-she’s incorporated ideas about cause and effect principle of karma (i.e. reaping what you sow; good thoughts and deeds attracts positive effects/results); also the line-something is ending/and something begins-evokes the Hindu/Buddhist belief of the cycle of life/death/rebirth that governs the natural world. By this time, she’s also been reading literature and became fascinated with Japanese art and culture that influenced her image of a geisha in a kimono, and the Japanese surrealist art dance form called “Butoh” with its choreography of exaggerated expressions and outer body levitation, bizarre movements that mimic life’s struggles and journey. Suggest you react to her-Paradise Not For Me-which is a deeper reflection into this spirituality and view of life and death. Appreciate you covering and reacting to this masterpiece.

This particular video she made was for auditioning for the movie memoirs off a geisha. The director at the time was still searching for the right cast. She loves the books 📚 story. And really wanted the main roll. But she didn't get it. The movie was made. the roll was given to a Chinese actress I can't remember her name. Michelle yeoh was also in the movie 🍿🎥.❤️
