Welcome to my metallic/iridescent/glitter media collection! :) It's a very long, very chatty video so grab yourself a drink and snack, get comfy, and enjoy! :)
The music during the intro portion is a recording I made many years ago of my daughter playing the piano. She's now grown (with a music degree) and you'll hopefully hear more of her current compositions/playing in my future videos. She's a wonderfully talented musician - thank you, my girl, for lending your talent! :)
Some of my recommendations:
*Gelly Roll metallic gel pens
*The clear Gelly Roll Stardust pen
*Pentel Slicci metallic gel pens
*TCW Shimmery Goodness
*W&N Iridescent Medium
*Zig Wink of Stella clear glitter pen
*Paul Rubens metallic watercolour paints
*Daler-Rowney FW Pearlescent inks
*For a really good set of 36 regular watercolour paints plus 12 metallic/iridescent watercolour paints, the 48 set of Meiliang paints is wonderful!
Time stamps:
0:00 Some winter views outside my window featuring various birds and critters and a lovely piano piece played by my daughter :)

Wow! Your view is amazing, never seen a wild deer here in the UK, you're beyond lucky ❤ Loving your videos too, so nice not to see free stuff from art companies being pushed on us in so many colouring videos lately.

Awesome videos! Really appreciate the honest, clear, and detailed reviews. it is refreshing to watch an artist express their views without being influenced by the manufacturer's freebies. Too many people showcase products purely for profit and not the love of their craft. Thank you.

Glad you like the videos! I don't know if I deserve the title of "artist" - I'm just a chemistry teacher who loves to colour and tries to learn a little bit everyday about art. :) I always try to be as honest as possible so that other folks don't waste their money on products that aren't worth it (like I've done in the past ;) :)). Thanks so much for watching!

That was terrific! Thank you for doing this. I loved, loved, loved the beginning. What a lovely view - the birds and the deer and the snow. So tranquil and lovely. This is quite the collection! I'm so glad you mentioned the Shadow pens. I got them with the 74 Gelly Roll set a while back and could not figure out the purpose when every color I put down turned either silver or gold! I'll try writing with them now and hopefully will get some use from them. You have so many fun products, it's a joy to see and my shopping list always gets longer when I watch these from you. I am very excited to see how to make snow from you. I've first got to get that Shimmery Goodness, lol! Thanks again for a fun, fulfilling 2 hours of your time on this. It was very valuable and fun for me!

Beautiful outlook you have! Looks amazing and the wildlife is so welcoming. Love your videos. How beautiful your daughter plays the piano, I appreciate a great pianist. I loved Liberace as a young child, he was so flamboyant and his music was just amazing. Your daughter is very talented, you must be so proud of her. Love from the UK 😘x

I think the manufacturers recommend lying gel pens flat for storage? I either store them tip down or flat…..I’ve had so many dry up or stop flowing - once they get an air bubble in they rarely work again. I don’t buy so many (or expensive) because I rarely use them fast enough before they stop working. I like the shiny pens but find them more often than not a bit disappointing. I’ve started just colouring metals with colours to “suggest” reflections and lustre. Another handy video Connie, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

I think you're right - they probably do suggest storing gel pens flat. My bad. :) Turns out that the Gelly Roll pens seem to be ok stored at an angle so that's something I learned. ;D And yes - using shading to give the impression of metallic shine and lustre is always going to be the best way to colour metallic objects. :) So glad you liked the video!

Wow, loved this video. I watched it over three sessions while I was colouring and your view is amazing by the way. I live in Australia, so we don't get views like that here. In the country we'll get the wild kangaroos and whatnot and that is beautiful too but I wish I could see snow. Anyway, thank you for doing this video. Lot's of options out there :)

I dont know if Paper poetry is something you can get all over the world. But i bought my glitter pens from them years ago, many years at this point xD And my sakura gel dry out but my paper poetry is still going strong. Good colours and they are juicy and pack a pretty nice punch actually.

I recently bought the Super Golden Markers and they are the most metallic of any that I have. Have no idea if they dry out quickly or not as Thay are new. Hopefully not.

I agree - they are quite a bit more reflective than others I've seen. They seem to be about as reflective and shiny as the solvent-based leafing pens but with more colours and no solvent to bleed through to the back side of the page. Win-win! :)

You can buy the Winsor & Newton Iridescent Medium from Amazon: www.amazon.com/Winsor-Newton-3221764-Watercolor-Medium-75ml/dp/B009EA6AZG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=5J6YO5XS630N&keywords=Winsor%2B%26%2BNewton%2BIridescent%2BWatercolor%2BMedium&qid=1701144862&sprefix=winsor%2B%26%2Bnewton%2Biridescent%2Bwatercolor%2Bmedium%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-2&th=1 You can also buy it from Dick Blick: www.dickblick.com/products/winsor-newton-iridescent-watercolor-medium/ I'm not sure where you are but if you search for "Winsor & Newton Iridescent Medium" on the Amazon site for your country, you can probably find it there. :) Hope that helps!

almost 4 minutes of sponsored advertisements? No thank you
@colouringchemist
@colouringchemist 7 ай бұрын
I'm so sorry that the ads are frustrating you! I chose not to include mid-roll ads in my videos (so there shouldn't be any ads in the middle of the videos - only at the beginning). Are you seeing ads in the middle of the video? I'm also not sponsored by any company (everything I have, I've bought myself :)) - are the ads you're seeing saying that I'm being sponsored? If so, I'll need to contact KZfaq to fix that! I know that ads can be frustrating. Some of them can't be skipped but you might be able to skip some of them by clicking on "Skip Ad" at the bottom right corner of your screen. KZfaq doesn't give creators a choice of which ads or how many ads they show so, unfortunately, I can't change the number of ads on a video - sorry about that! I'm guessing that this video has more ads because it's over 2 hours long and KZfaq probably has an "increasing video length = more ads" policy. I hope that the ads don't discourage you from watching my videos. If they do, I'm sad to see you go and I hope you find the kind of content and format that you're looking for on one of the other wonderful "Colour-Tube" channels. :) All the best!

@@colouringchemist I went back and watched video again, one 2 ads at 41 or 43 minutes (can't remember) which I could skip and another 2 at approx 1:15:30 which I could not skip (almost 4 minutes). Nice video content though

@@Bon-sy1ym Thank you so much for letting me know!! I'm going to have to look into that - I specifically have my videos set to "no mid-roll ads" because I know how annoying they are. I've just sent in an email to the KZfaq creator support team and I hope I can get this fixed. I'm glad you like the video content!
