the band wrote this song after all their music instruments were stolen during Kill'em All tour. You can really hear the instruments shine to the fullest in this beutyfull song!...and the sadness in the lyrics!

This is one of the greatest songs ever written.. It sounds awesome and the lyrics helped me and alot more people in bad times.. when people start to think about suicide, when they dont want to live anymore.. these lyrics can really help them like they helped me and i still need them and i will need them in the future.. Thank you Metallica.

I hate when people say," you should listen to real music". People need to realize people have different tastes in music, and you shouldn't think your taste in music is the best.

At nearly 21 years old, I am having an existential crisis and am currently coming to terms with the fact that I have lived as long as I wish to live. I came back here to listen to a badass Metallica song I haven't heard in ages, hoping that the irony might make me reconsider my stance. I wish it would now as it has before.

In my opinion much of today's "music" lacks passion and soul, there is no meaning behind a majority of today's songs, music should enlighten you, it should speak to you and most importantly it should change you. Led Zepplin, Guns and roses, Dire straights, Metallica, REM, queen, scorpions.... the list goes on and on, the music that has been produced by musicians such as these have a great effect on my life. These are musicians and what they do truly is an art of beauty!!

This song emphasises my sadness at the change in youtube comments ... as I scroll below me I am struggling to find people I can actually reply too ... Seriously if you only want to speak to ppl in your friend circle .. go Skype or better yet go actually meet them face to face .. having a private conversation on someone else's youtube video is retarded .. you don;t want random ppl to respond yet you have a conversation out in the open

I love this song, it isn't just a representation of a man wishing to die from pain or agony I dare say it is a reflection on metal at essence. The man accepts his fate and believes what ever choice he makes is the right one no matter the out come, weather it be pain misery or even death. He will push on and know to the grave he is right, it's so beautifully done i must give a gracious round of applause to Metallica.
