This song is a cover song. The original is by Thin Lizzy. They put out an album of covers back in the 90’s called “Garage Days....re-revisited.” That’s why it sounds different than their original songs.

It wasn't written with any long instrumentals at the beginning, basic riff, basic solo but still a fun song to listen to.

They had a kinda strange phase during the 1990s after the Black album. Load and ReLoad were very strange. And this is part of an album with song covers they did. Basically they had a punk/country/who knows what phase. Lol

Metallica covered this song because bassist Cliff Burton was a huge Thin Lizzy fan before he passed away. When they did "The Night Before" concert before the Superbowl a few years ago, they intro'd their encoreneith this and James talked briefly about Cliff and sent this song out to him.

With most bands who survive and have a career that lasts a long time , there’s usually an album or two that stray a bit from the sound that their fans are used to. Most hard core Metallica fans didn’t like the more mainstream albums they put out. I actually didn’t mind them , but I listen to all types of music. “Fuel” is still a song I crank all the time.

I think someone else mentioned it, but the TV out the window is an old Rock N Roll cliche. I think it started with a story of Led Zeppelin doing it at a hotel. Which I don't even think is true. More of just a myth, but some bands have. It's kind of representative of the crazy sex, drugs, and rock n roll life style. Trashing the hotel room. The whole thing. Some of that stuff probably use to be more genuine back in the day. Some of it is just legend, and I think there were probably a lot of people that did it because they thought they were supposed to, and they were trying really hard to look cool.

Go for some Grandson or Five Finger Death Punch next! I'm sure you'll love both! Grandson vaires from alternate to Rock and Rap fusing it all with trap aswell and is most likely the most unique artist ive ever heard, definite bangers in my book are from Die Young, Oh No!!!, WW3, Falling (Temptation) to Dirty and Apologize! While Five Finger Death Punch is a very soulful Heavy Metal band like Metallica, main focus being on the US Military and the support on Veterans and Soldiers, Awesome reaction as always!

No throwing the tv out the window was like a rock style live initiation during the 1980s. Most notorious for doing that are Motley Crue. Speaking of the Crue, you should try them. I’ll recommend to start with Wild Side, Girls Girls Girls, Kickstart My Heart or Dr Feelgood.
