Man when part 1 was still ongoing and we didnt know about the erasure thing i came up with this theory that the chainsaw was so feared and revered by some devils because he managed to scam a contract out of one of the primal fears that only benefitted him and now that devil essentially put a bounty on him since he himself couldnt go out of hell to hunt him

a chainsaw isn't necessarily the only thing that mutilates, plus if it was fear of mutilation then wouldn't devils be forgotten if they were ripped apart by the chainsaw and not when they were eaten

I read somewhere that he isnt chainsaw dévil, but the forgoten devil or errased devil, and the shape of the chainsaw is his attempt to be loud, noisy, and having his existance recognised.

Makima was very aware of the horsemen and chainsaw man. If she wanted to get rid of things tha harmed humanity the death devil could probably do it for her. If not, then if the chainsaw devil got its hands on a piece of flesh than the Makima would be smart enough to get her hands on some Aswell. Makima also talked about Chainsaw man as if he was unique and special. Great theory but I doubt it.

We don't know for sure that what Power offered Denji was a contract, at least as a devil would normal consider it Given that its the only example of a hybrid seemingly making a contract with a devil/fiend that we know of, when it would be incredible beneficial for them to readily do so if it were possible, it seems more likely that Power was simply asking for Denji to make her a promise. A contract of a sort, but not one enforced by the system governing the power exchange between devils and humans

Given that contracts are enforced with the threat of death should they be broken, I have to imagine that a devil's death - regardless of cause - would result in any contracts that devil had being terminated

If you like the premise/power system I recommend The Magnus Archives, it's nothing like CSM but It's still really good.

The hell devil doesn't break any rules, he gets chopped in half, is fed some blood so he won't immediately die so he can fulfill his contract, and then he dies. Hes not "special" in any grand way

@@Skibbutz there’s no logical contradiction in a Devil Devil existing. It’s not like it’s “stealing” fear from the other devils by existing, fear isn’t a zero sum game. For example the Death Devil exists and of course has massive overlap with essentially all other devils yet normal devils can still be a threat.

Any concept the Chainsaw devil eats is litterally retconned out of existence, it never happened, its consequences are undone and the world course corrects everything to be as if it never happened. We know it's not just erasing memories of events because of the Hybrids, makima directly states that the hybrids should not exist, meaning their continued existence is not normal, when csm eats a devil, its concept is straight up deleted from reality.

Power was in her devil form (meaning she wasn't a fiend anymore)when she made her contract with Denji, that's why it worked, Pochita even said in chapter 91 that if Power eats his flesh, she would be revived as a devil, not a fiend. Yeah, she appears to be in her fiend form inside the dumpster, but that was only a mental image, as Denji was fully clothed inside the dumpster, but as soon as he wakes up, he's shirtless,meaning she was talking with him inside his head (like Pochita talked with Denji in the first chapter). Power was still in her full devil form in her last talk with Denji, which is why she could make a contract. About the Makima's contract with Denji, i don't remember anything about that, but regardless, Makima isn't a fiend, she's a full devil, which is why she can make contracts.

However, there is something you missed: the reason why I used these examples was because Denji is a hybrid, and the video suggests that being a hybrid invalidates you from making contracts as well, which I disagree with.

@@eloquence_4143 i think Meti is trippin honestly, it was never stated that hybrids can't make contracts. In fact, Denji stays as a hybrid because of a contract with Pochita and Denji used Powers blood in the final fight, meaning they indeed forged a contract and it was not just a vague promise.

It’s not an actually binding devil contract, but he agrees to it and power has to take him at his word that he’ll fulfill it

We know that devil are born with a "name". It can either be a concept or a material ( the world war 2 demon has existed,) we can give the hypothesis that a "Devil devil" ( from the fear of devil in chainsaw man) can exist. From what I understand a devil can exist as long as it given a "name" and be fear. So, if something as absurd as the coffee devil can exist, then think of everything single time you got scare because of something you didn't know. "Horsemen" aren't a special category of devils like primal fears are, the horsemen are just normal devils who have the names which align with the biblical horsemen. Theres absolutely nothing stating that a primal fear couldn't also be a horsemen.

I beleive chainsaw cannot erase things completely without eating all associated concepts. WW 2 and the Nazi devil are erased but the concept of war still lives. Hybrids are probably associated with a fear that has not been consumed, so they are still a thing but all associated memories are gone.

That is a result of the Darkness devil. He not only severed the arms but took the darkness inside it with it. My guess is you cant regrow the limb if the concept of darkness is not their to give it a form.

Their bodies when ripped apart consistently show that they’re full of blood and intestines but there’s zero signs of them having any other internal organs. Even the Control Devil, the most outwardly human devil in the entire series, is shown to have intestines where her brain should be, though it isn’t explicitly stated it’s clear that none of the devils actually work within the restrictions of the normal rules for how life forms function. This is only an issue assuming that the Bat Devil and Angel Devil work similarly on a biological basis as that’s not necessarily true despite them both being devils. I mean Bat is a bat monster thing but Angel is basically just a human, not to mention the Chicken Devil which lives without a head but can still speak and like a human at that, or the Cosmos fiend who has exposed brain matter and a distended eye. We don’t even know how the effectiveness varies as the general rule of blood = heal still holds even if all it does for Angel is fix a paper cut. The real question is why does the effect vary between individuals which there’s no answer for in the story. Another point: having the arm in question doesn’t guarantee that it can be reattached medically, plus angel kills on touch how would they reattach it?

Asa is just a weird fiend where the devil didn't fully take control of the human. We know that the human conciousness survives when a fiend is created (Violence and Aki47) but usually the devil just shoves that conciousness to the side and takes over. Yoru specifically didn't fully take over asa, it only took over half her brain, leaving the other half for asa.
