Nice Video, but I'm a bit confused: isn't it dangerous to pull him down like this since he could angle his dagger and still get you in the foot or side? Also what prevents him from stabbing you in the side while you do the pomel strike or rather couldn't he defend the pomel strike with his left hand to stab you?

The pull down pushes his hand down and away from you. It is difficult for what you mentioned to occur. But I will agree that it is possible. However, in our experience the dagger ends back and away from you with the step you take. Regarding the pommel strike block, again it is possible. But this is a part of changing target if meeting resistance. Overall this is a precept, and simply Meyer is teaching how to use the dagger to control the opponents dagger hand. In free play most often the left hand comes to aid the parry, and allow for safer defence.
