We always used the gel drops on our goats!!! It not only kills the lice but also the eggs & fleas & protects them for 6 months!!! You just have to put the drops on the back of their neck!!! Very quick & easy treatment & as a vet I always recommend it!!! Love Y'all & God Bless!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Parasites usually infect animals with low immune system. Since Harry was the one who got sick before that could be the problem also. I would definitely make sure he has access to minerals all the time.

The goats are so cute. Friends of ours at church had a baby goat that had a broken leg when it was young. They would bring it to church with them while its leg was healing. It was too cute and our Pastor incorporated the goat into our VBS play that year. That summer we had a fellowship at church and my daughter and her friends were sitting with here friends and the goat rammed my daughter and her friends. She screamed not being used to farm animals and I told her that the goat was just playing. Every time I watch your videos she stops immediately when she hears your goats and sits next to me to watch. She always says that goats are so adorable. You both work so well together. God bless you both!

Corn starch works well if you happen to nip the dogs nail bed and it is an inexpensive quick fix. It works well for humans as well, I had to use it on my husband's grandfather who hit his arm and broke the skin. We washed out the abrasion with peroxide and I sprinkled corn starch on his arm. ATTN: A horse brush or something smaller, put the mixture on the brush then brush the goat. May be a better experience for everyone. P.S. lice can jump six feet, you might want to do the others as preventative, especially since that is so natural not harmful.

This episode made me laugh so hard. I'm an elementary teacher which unfortunately means that there have been lice scares in the classroom. One of the things that our school nurse would do were lice checks when there was a concern expressed by the teacher or a sibling. There was one particular school nurse that I was always laughing with and had the best sense of humor. One year I bribed one of my little students with treats to help me play a trick on the school nurse. (Her cultural background had her switching the l and r sounds in her words, making it irresistible.) I asked the nurse to come down at recess to check this student. So the nurse arrived with gloves and the tools of the trade to separate the hair to check. My sweet, innocent looking student was waiting patiently. It only took one or two maneuvers before the r/lice started just falling from her hair. I had put white rice next to the scalp of her hair and then had her sit still waiting for the big reveal. All three of us laughed and laughed as the little girl shook the rice out of her hair, grabbed her candy, and ran out to play. That was a joke not soon surpassed with that nurse.

We regularly use food grade DE (diatomaceous earth) here on the farm. We feed it to our donkeys, mule and dog in their food to control worms and keep flies from breeding in their manure (we sprinkle garden grade DE on the manure pile in spring, summer and fall). Good research, Shannon. I don't like using chemicals either.

You guys are lucky Spruce hasn’t learned about being hangry yet. If I remember correctly there’s are salt licks that can help with insects and fleas but I’m not sure about lice, you could check with Redmond salts or your local feed store. A project Shannon may want to attempt this year is a milking stand , it would make it so much easier to medicate or do maintenance on the goats.

It’s finally sunny and 64 degrees here in north Louisiana! I’m loving it! Except it’s too wet to mow or work in my yard. We’ve had lots of rain. Well, you tell Larry and Harry that their fur looks beautiful! I feel for them. We have three sons and I feel fortunate that we never dealt with our sons getting head lice. Which is something that lots of kids get in school. My niece owned a camper that she used to live in while on her pipeline job. She would leave it on the site when she came home. While away mice set up homestead in her camper. She had to completely tear out the interior of the camper. It was a complete overhaul. I have never heard so much swearing! She was livid! She no longer works the pipeline jobs so she sold the camper. At least the person who bought it doesn’t have a mouse problem!

In order to get rid of mice in your camper, please put EVERYTHING in metal containers. This includes flour, sugar, rice, cereal, fruits, oatmeal, pastas, dog food, everything! We had mice in our summer house and this is how I got rid of them. If there is nothing to eat, they will go elsewhere. Plastic containers do not work. Neither do cotton sacks, since mice love cotton. Also, I realize that Bruno is just a little pup but now is the time that you should be teaching him that chasing the birds is an absolute No-No. He will be growing by leaps and bounds and he's not going to realize that chasing the birds even if he is only playing can be deadly to them. I am not an expert but I watch other channels such ad Gold Shaw farm which is primarily a duck and goose farm and that's what he focused on when he first got Abby Dog.
