If you don’t get distracted by Dunn’s height, you understand what a great actor he was, and a great voice too. What a talent he was.

Michael and Phoebe were brilliant.

Apparently Michael Dunn and Pheobe Dorin were a thing in New York, playing in hotels and night clubs, and were great friends. In the episode where the boat sinks with Phoebe sitting in it, her dress got stuck. According to Dorin, Michael realized her danger and dove in and tore the dress and freed her, saving her life. By all accounts he was a terrific actor and a nice guy to know and work with.

She loved to tell that story I understand. I think she was quite fond of Dunn.

I love this performance (well all of his performances but this one especially). I've yet to hear anyone who worked with him do anything but praise him as a wonderful guy with a big heart.

They were a singing dual before becoming actors. The creators of the WWW saw them perform and came up with the idea of Dr. Loveless. They were fantastic.

Dr. Miguelito Quixote Loveless best antagonist in the Wild Wild West!

Y'know what makes these lil bits even better? The serene joy on Dr Loveless's face when he looks at Antoinette. You can tell that, even as he sings along with her, he's drinking in the beauty of her voice and enjoying every moment of it.

When Dunn married in 1966, his new wife was said to be jealous of Dorin, and made Dunn break up the act. Dorin also no longer appeared as Antoinette; Loveless was given other companions in later episodes.

so THAT's what happened. I always wondered why she wasn't in those last 4 episodes of his. Thank you.

Oh that's so sad. He and Phoebe did have some incredible romantic chemistry, however...I suppose I understand why it made his wife feel insecure but that's a shame. Their act was great.

What a shame, they were brilliant together. Jealousy is an awful thing.
@mehitablestorm88773 жыл бұрын
@@wickedfeylady They did have great chemistry - you can actually see how fond she was of him. I think that was real, but he seemed like a really sweet guy. Many women would not care about the height difference for a sweet, smart man, who also was rather good looking.

Michael was fabulous. If you watch the newest Dr. Who, is an actor with the same condition as Michael. I thought immediately he would make an excellent Dr. Loveless should the thought ever be to cast a 2024 version. And indeed, Mr. Dunn had a beautiful voice. He was my fave character on TWWW 0:54

I always thought of Phoebe Dorin as a spitting image of the late actress Suzanne Pleshette, who apparently was also on The Wild Wild West.

CBS where fools to cancel this show after 4 years just like NBC did with Star Trek. Too bad that the studios never did a feature film right after with Conrad and Martin. The Will Smith film decades later stunk.

It's sad that Dunn broke up with Dorin because his gold digger wife ordered him too. She ended up screwing Dunn for almost every penny he earned.

We should dox her and protest making her final years burdensome
