Many, many thanks Jonathan! I tracked the package and saw it came yesterday. Certainly on the higher end of most PSA 8's in my opinion. Are you a big card collector? Basketball or other? What made you decide to take advantage of the sale? Thanks again, Mitch Boyle tripledoublesportscards.com

As far as I know the best overall grade a BGS card can get is a half grade higher than the lowest of the 4 subgrades. So even if you had something like a 7, 9, 9, 9 - the overall grade would still be a 7.5.

Thanks a bunch Ron. Very helpful. What do you find for sales/value? Are subgrades more critical or centering or ?

@@tripledoublesportscards5125 As far as BGS goes, if the overall grades are equal, it seems centered cards will sell faster and/or higher

That's correct, best possible is half grade higher than lowest sub. It is not an average of the subs

Hey Mitch, so one reason I like BGS is the reason behind the grade. I like to know right away why it was downgraded, or upgraded. I get a PSA 8 and I can’t find any reason why it wasn’t a 9. I don’t fully understand the process on the final grade. At BGS I think centering is the biggest reason for the grade. I can respect that. That’s just my own opinion. I recently submitted 100 cards of 1987 fleer cards to complete my fully graded set. In my mind of looking through 6-7 of each card I own for considering submitting, centering was top on my mind. I can’t wait to get my order back of 100 to see how PSA grades vs BGS. That’s one reason my 86 fleer set was all BGS. Coming soon my PSA 1987 fleer reveal. Soon I’ll see how they grade.

Many thanks Mk. Makes a lot of sense and yes, it's nice to know the “why” that you get from BGS. In my second of this two part series you'll see I have a PSA 8.5 Jordan and a BGS 9.5 Gem Mint Jordan(among others) and it seems to me the 8.5 is in better condition or at least as good. I'm not a trained grader of course and don't have the tools but it does make me wonder if I should have sent it to BGS. For your PSA submission how many "stars or non-commons" are you submitting and when do you expect to get those back? Lastly, I watched your BGS 1986-87 Fleer basketball graded set review. Great content! Here's the link for folks here to watch. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nMd8hLJy1dO4f4E.html Thank you! Mitch Boyle tripledoublesportscards.com

Hey Mitch, hope all is well! So I submitted 100 cards on the 28th of February. 98 cards were 87 fleer commons some were duplicates just because I had the cards raw and thought they had a good chance at a good grade. And the last 2 were commons of 88 fleer to make it an even hundred. One was a Spud Webb and one Doc rivers. My next submission will be the commons I need to complete my 88 fleer. I think I need like 70 something to finish that set. All psa 8 or higher. As far as the submission, I shipped them February 28th and as today they are in the grading process, which is pretty quick! Hopefully I get them back within the next month. If all the cards come back 8 or higher I’ll have the complete 87 fleer set as well as my 86 all graded. I’ve been working on upgrading my 86 fleer, I made great progress, I might do another video. I think I upgraded like 50-60 cards to 9-9.5. I just purchased a real nice spud Webb BGS 9.5 to add to my set. Looking forward to watching that BGS vs PSA video. Thanks for sharing the link to my set also!

Sounds good Mk and looking forward to it. 87 is tough, not sure what the print run is but I heard less, given that 86 sales were "weak". Go figure😂 I do have a fair amount of 86 stars in BGS 9 on my website. Please check it out tripledoublesportscards.com/ and if there's something you like let me know at tripledoublesportscards.com/contact/. Many thanks!

Don’t forget the color. The 7’s color isn’t as vibrant (at least in the video). The 8’s color is more vibrant. Either way. As a Jordan collector I don’t get my cards graded because yeah it’s too subjective and I like to enjoy the card so I keep them all raw in screw cases (yeah I know lol) I started collecting from 1991 so this is what we did back then, so I keep them in their original form. But yeah the color on them is more vibrant on one then the other. That might be another factor that they should include in the grading process.

Hello Feeture, Good to hear of your Jordan passion and thanks so much for the input! Color is not something you hear a lot about (maybe that's encompassed in surface?) but agreed. Even in the world of art, color is critical to value and appreciation. I had most of my Jordan's in screwdowns and luckily, they were all graded. I do have a couple of Bird/Magic's that we're not because of that issue. I wish they would grade them and adjust for the compression issues.

@@tripledoublesportscards5125 if you were to find say 10 rare Charizard. It would flood the market. So it will take forever to get em back. Then watch how they screw u in the grade. I'm telling u if u don't pay the rush premium. They will bone u on the grade. It's happened to me. Twice. I had a gem mint Griffey ud. Bought already rated gem mint. Sent it to PSA. Who graded it a 7. 🤔 That's how. Thanks for asking

I sent it as a point to not trust grading companies. Lost the video. It was on my phone n phone got ruined. I will do it again. And post the video. Plus what they charge to grade a card is thievery. And how do I know I'm getting the same card back?
