“Church Militant or Michael Voris haven’t clarified (Boris’ dismissal), and people who have asked for clarification have, by some, been criticised for lack of charity… It may be reasonably pointed out that Michael (Boris) & Church Militant were ruthless enough in following up stories if similar kind with regard to Church figures”.
Join Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne for episode 157 of 'The Brendan Option' where he discusses the dismissal of the founder of Church Militant, Michael Voris.
“I wish we could get to a more genuine Christian place, because i feel the way we go on, when someone in leadership slips…it’s not healthy. It happens in this witch hunt that goes on in the Secular sphere as well, that it encourages shamelessness. The emergence of the least admirable, and that in terms of making the strongest survive, it placed the strengths that you may not necessarily want in a leader”.

Was he really a man of faith? CM was spewing a lot of criticism and vitriol at a lot of people while ignoring the PLANK in their own eye! I understand we all want strong leaders with strong convictions. But when we ignore our own sin, this is the result. I can barely believe MV thought he would get away with this indefinitely. I pray he finds the light again.

Haven't people read Sodom and Gomorrah? Or why all the homosexuals died when Our Lord Jesus was born? In the early church some did heavy penances in the African desert for some heavy sins!

@@bahr-pq4uo he crossed the line by exposing Church Militant sins instead of being charitable and Christlike. If he was just slightly patient on his way home, pondered over it all after praying and asked The Holy Spirit, it would have a different ending with David but he acted swiftly on his emotions, impulse and human behaviour of getting even instead of leaving it all to God who says “Vengeance is Mine”. And now, we must help him, Christine and the rest of Church Militant return stronger than ever.

Remove and separate people from their sin and all of us need to quake in our boots. Michael's humanity is a lesson to us about the power of evil when taking on a Catholic ministry...particularly a very public ministry. We should be praying for him but putting the lens on the log in our own eyes. As a retired Catholic elementary school principal, I can assure you that if you do not pray with your staff and stay ever vigilant in the knowledge that Satan is prowling among you, falling is inevitable.

As a former Protestant, I keep abreast of current events throughout Christendom due to the vision I received of Christ in my home in the Spring of 2010. I have not become Roman Catholic but rather lean to the Orthodoxy in matters of theology. I have watched Voris from time to time and, knowing of his history, marvelled at the grace of God I saw in his outreach to others. I hear the wisdom of the Lord in the words presented here and would only add that it is best to avoid a view of the heroic in others and to place greater focus on the Lord himself. God bless!

@@sliglusamelius8578 At 4:25 pm on May 12, 2010 the Lord Jesus stood in my living room, fully robed with hands by his side. He appeared to be very tall, wearing sandals, and was visible head to toe. I did not see his face as it was concealed by a cloth on which the pattern of a spiral galaxy was imprinted, like embroidery. I later came to understand this cloth over the Lord's face was a Sadarium, perhaps there to protect me from expiring while in his presence. I share this rarely with others however my readers are aware of it due to the fact we are very late in time and the harvest is about to begin. God bless.

It's been said that we get the leaders we deserve. Given our immoral society and the ungodly behavior that is widely accepted as normal, but greatly offends the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, it's no wonder that we have the leaders we have, both secular and religious. We watched the talk between EMJ and Mike Parrot where we learn Christine Niles has got some vicious troubles of her own in media. Betrayal is pretty tough to recover from. The Dave Gordon version of events seems the best thought through. I find it difficult to think CM can recover from this. I can forgive Michael Voris for this betrayal. But I can't with a clear conscience look to him for leadership in anything. I myself muttled around for a half century as if I was just a pagan. An old womanizing biker living the life of one determined to pry open the doors of hell that I may crawl in. I know sin. I feel I myself drove the spikes through our blessed lords hands and feet. I must repent and beg for God's mercy. So must Michael. It don't seem like either of us is one to follow. We must do our repentance both public and private. All glory to God my prayers are with Michael. Our Lady please console your son Michael and help him through this difficult time into eternity with God our Father forever!

I surfed on youtube for Catholic content a few years back and stumbled upon "Church Militant". I became an avid follower of the apostolate. It's sad and tragic as to what happened to the founder who was a staunch critic, and rightfully so, of practicing homosexuals in the hierarchy, esp. McCarrick. He himself did make a confession about a similar past and vowed to change his ways which accdg to him was the main reason for the creation of CM. It's difficult to understand how he was able to live and stomach a double-standard life but who am I to judge? As commonly said, " Don't kick somebody when he is down". May his "demise" remind us of our own failings despite our efforts to be virtuous, (Simul justus et peccator).

A great presentation. The court of the Internet is very unforgiving. And you are right to say that the standards that CM used to expose others, should have been applied by themselves to themselves. All of us have weaknesses and failings. But the vast majority of us are not commentators like CM are. Therefore if there had been a voluntary and public disclosure - this would have mitigated somewhat the sense of betrayal, hurt, anger that is out there. (But let's be clear even a voluntary and public disclosure would not have remedied some peoples sense of anger and betrayal and dare I say gloating). Personally I never really liked CMs way of presenting information. I found them aggressive, and there is always a sense of false sanctimony, about them. Voris and Niles presentation style was highly condemnatory - they seemed to be personally offended a lot of the time. This style of presenting alienated me. As I understand it there was no voluntary and public disclosure in this case. The take away here is that if you judge using the Internet, then you'd better be prepared to be judged by the Internet. If each of our own behaviours were open to comment by the Internet jury, how many of us would pass that test? We do need to try to give people more benefit of the doubt, but at the same time the person who falls needs to be sincere and genuinely contrite. Its a hard balance to measure on both sides. Thanks Father for a great presentation

Yes I agree that as Christian Catholics we need to be much more charitable- especially online - if we are to draw people in to the faith. For goodness sake we all sin, we all fall that is why we have the sacrament of reconciliation. It has always disheartened me when I see Catholic commentators online with a sizeable platform on social media condemning their brothers or sisters for various reasons and especially when they have fallen as spectacularly as Michael Voris appears to have . Passing judgement just for click bait really , to boost their own platform - when we should be extending a hand to lift those who have fallen, praying for them and with them. I think if you are in a public Catholic apostolate the enemy is even more voracious and that is when we need to pray harder, but that is usually when we don't feel like praying at all, and that's what prayer partners are for; to hold us up when we can't stand. To be a shield when we don't have the energy to pray ourselves. That's what Catholic community is.

I think the root problem seems that we have not seen the repentance and reparation you talked about. How many of those who have done terrible acts against Chasity have apologized? How many Bishops have said I am sorry my dear children I have failed you? Come do penance and reparation with me for we have offended the most Holy Trinity. Let us do what Mary has asked to do in so many apparitions. Prayer, Penance and Reparation. It is in this humility we can convert ourselves by the grace of the Holy Spirit to holiness and love. Something the world is not seeing in us. Son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner.

I like what you have to say, Father. It sounds like genuine charity. I wonder perhaps "who has not fought themselves back" to where Our Lord wants us. These are grown men, no sin against children. They know right from wrong. At least one should have one chance of recovering sufficient grace to return to what he was good at. We must continue to pray for this openness and may we all just go back to our work for the glory of God and our own salvation. Thank you. God bless you.

We are in the greatest spiritual warfare and destitution in all of human history. This is a God vs. evil war to the death worldwide. *Our daily Godliness and prayerfulness are a matter of life and death from now on. * The cowardly and diabolical abandonment of exorcisms, spiritua warfare, deliverances, St. Michael prayers, and Godly Holy Spirit infilling has caused all the troubles of the world, past and present

My problem with Voris is not this fall. My problem with Voris is his vehement attacks on the SSPX, who also may have their problems, but who also do great work.

If you believe strongly that the SSPX is schismatic, and the Catholic Churches teaching that being schismatic is a grave offense, then it leads a person to have no love for the SSPX. We have to have loyalty to God's church which is greater than loyalty of tradition. I love tradition and pray someday it all comes back. But the SSPX is schismatic and is outside the church. The popes since JP2 have all said this, it is no question...

I watched a documentary recently on failings of the church (not child related). I won’t go into the specifics as while it is important to reflect on our failings, to ask for reconciliation and to make reparations; what struck me while watching this documentary we’re the motivations of the maker and some participants in the documentary. The motivations of the participants who had skin in the game varied but the makers motivations seemed to be to discredit the church as a whole, to secure a payout and to end or discredit the ministries of the clergy involved. One participant went so far as to question the documented maker on my point. If the clergy are to lose their career and ministry on this alone, is that not compounding the issue? Is that not encouraging a culture of secrecy as oppose to transparency? Can we not extend to the clergy the mercy and love that we are shown in the confessional? For those who are not religious but who are intent are on exacerbating the issue; where is the tolerance? I do think, it is time to look at this more maturely and not have these unrealistic superhuman expectations of our clergy. Reactions should be proportional. It’s certainly a fine line to thread as the clergy are held to higher standard but this witch hunt style outing of religious cannot continue. Clergy give relentlessly to serve their parishioners in times of tragedy and joy. They are smaller in number and have a bigger workload than priest before them. Are we looking after our priests? Are we praying for them? Pray for your priests 🙏🏻

The problem is that they do not lose their positions. They are promoted and “celebrated.” I’m older than Fr. Kilcoyne and have seen so many people fall into despair because the truly unrepentant people in collars who are exposed, go on into our parishes and diocesan positions and into the Vatican where they are embraced for their heterodox beliefs and objectively unbiblical “actions”. It just gets worse and worse every passing year. How can they repent when they’re busy in positions of more influence?

Christine Niles should start a new apostolate. I'm done with Church Militant, but they still had faithful people working there who could still keep the fires burning in a new location with a better board and CEO who in my opinion should be Christine. There's a few things that I've disagreed with her on but I've never met a person that I agreed with 100% of the time. I've learned a lot from her and I find her inspiring and encouraging on my spiritual journey.

Father, Mr Voris’ misconduct did not take place in a vacuum. If the CM organisation collectively enabled him, its credibility approaches -nil. As individuals, the perpetrator and those who aided him, even by looking away from the sin, deserve our prayers. But Our Lord did not command us to be rubes. This group need to come clean: morally and fiscally. And its victims require civil justice and our prayers too. Tx Father.

Very charitable. Voris' lifestyle was active homosexuality and promiscuous. I stopped watching/listening to CM awhile ago when I could see warning signs from him of catering again to the lifestyle. In fact, he flaunted it in style and substance because the faithful did not see it and he knew it. Now if the board knew it, that is an even greater profanation. THIS is the greatest offense here-causing the least to stumble

We should be very careful about wanting knowledge of Other people’s sins. Unless others have been victimised, and there needs to be legal justice, it’s none of our business, and we slide perilously close to our own sins of detraction or calumny. Which one of us would enjoy suspicion and assumptions had we been removed by a job position, either voluntarily or involuntarily?

Thanks Father, Good review, but we can’t have him back. Yes, let’s pray for him and all involved, but bridges of trust have been badly burnt! Christine didn’t cover herself in glory in her statement regarding him. It seemed more like a betrayal than a message of support? Let Michael retreat to a life of prayer and penance for his very serious fall from Grace. If he does this, he’ll have a good chance of salvation, but it’s between him and his Maker now, so let everyone withdraw and pray for all those who have been shaken in their faith as a consequence of his fall. God bless to all

Now there's an important question you've asked...just WHO introduced Michael to sodomy? Good grief l never thought about that. May be THAT'S the 'Dark Secret' he's not talking about and yes...may be WHY he's 'outing' these Clergy Creeps!!! As a faithful Catholic, he's never going to desert 'the BARQUE OF PETER'. Remember, this attack on Holy Mother Church, this Infiltration was planned back in the 1920's. Michael may have been victimized as a child or teen. Yes, it's called 'grooming'. That obsession with the pleasure of intimate contact + pride + narcissism + drugs (which he said enhanced the pleasure).... There is a ticking TIME BOMB determined to right wrongs wielding the sword of St Michael which he exhausted the Internet to find. BRILLIANT QUESTIONS YOU POSED, BRAVO!!! 🗡

I think if Michael had offered an immediate apology to the many Priests/Bishops whose characters he destroyed for doing what he himself was doing it would have gone down well. Michael thinks his sins are his own and nobody’s business but pity he didn’t think the sins of the many people he has destroyed deserved to be private! He was absolutely ruthless when it came to judging others and he showed no mercy. God help him and I pray that he will by the grace of God overcome his demons.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I listened to E Michael Jones two recent podcasts (EMJ live Episode 50 and 51). These as far as I can tell were the most revealing recent commentaries about Voris. There is a place for Christian charity, but not at the expense of truth. Dr Jones wrote a book about Voris in 2016. The man behind The Curtain: Michael Voris and the Homosexual Vortex in 2016. Dr Jones is a man who is not afraid to speak his mind. Anyhow these podcasts are worth listening to if only to make yourself aware of the darker side of CM and the experience of anyone with the temerity to call out its founder.

Very, very well said Father! I would only add that Voris was so angry about corruption in the Church that the anger as well as a lack of humility and a dismissive “know it all” attitude marred his reporting. I found his reporting often ridiculous because of that and it detracted from his investigative reporting. As a contrast, at lifesite news John Henry Weston separates his emotions from his reporting and has a much better show as a result. Peace to you.🙏

Michael Voris indeed pointed the guns 360, pointing it at heretic modernists and schismatics alike, schismatics like the SSPX. You might view charitable zeal for justice as hatred. But, from left to right he was impartial. Even if I agree he should have been impartial with himself. And it would have resulted in a St.Augustine style repentance and penance that would have really inspired me and the many others who share his heavy cross.
