Mid renovation house tour 2023! I can't believe it's already been 6 months since we got the keys to our 1900 Victorian terrace. Thank you for joining us on our renovation journey we hope you've enjoyed what we've been up to so far and look forward to continuing this year!

Lining paper was used to hide poor plaster. If you take it all off, a skim coat of plaster will give you a nice flat surface for painting

Yes good idea - I just fear how much plaster will cost - I hear it can be rather expensive! I am tempted to put nice thick wallpaper over it all to hide it haha! x

Don't put storage in that Narrow hallway! If you want storage put it above that door at the end of the hall instead. In the Master bedroom you can hang the door on the left instead if you want built in wardrobes on the right.

I have long corridor and we have changed our long radiator into vertical one and gave us a lot more space for storage

Lovely home and great reno work so far. Suggestion: I would remove the bathroom next to the kitchen and create an office space. Build out the wardrobe it will add storage space for you and Cody while living in the home and good for resale because you have storage. Reno the upstairs bathroom because bathrooms and kitchens add 💰💰💰to the home. The kitchen is functional, I would add some shelving to the top and cabinets on the bottom with large drawers to the bottom because it would add more storage and the top shelves would allow more light to enter the kitchen.

People who are interested in buying an original Victorian property (myself for one) do NOT want any modern features. So whenever you have a decision use that’s as your criteria - if it doesn’t look like it belongs in a Victorian house just save your money and leave it alone!

You can have some diy shelves in the alcove next to the bathroom and hide everything with a simple curtain.

can i ask if you have done anything yet with the room off the dining room? I have a room very similar, and I need ideas!?

Hi Maria! We’ve got an under the stairs cupboard in the dining room which we haven’t touched yet with all our tools but that will likely be for shoes and coats, did think about a downstairs toilet but not ideal in a dining room. Next to our dining room is the kitchen which we haven’t touched yet either not sure what to do with it! Knock it all down or do a light refurb ready for the new owners? Our neighbour actually knocked the wall down between the dining room and hallway so it’s more open plan which looks great! We probably would do that if we were staying here long term but we are looking to move next year so now we’re just doing essentially the minimum! X
