i'm not surprised when it's talion (or celebrimbor, i guess). the dude is dead, but keeps getting reanimated in mordor, so it's understandable that he has no fucks left to give. not sure what eltariel's excuse is… maybe elves are just rude? although it's also suggested that she's been playing whack-a-wraith for a _long_ time, which seems like a sisyphean task if there ever was one. she's probably just tired of the witch king's bullshit.

Actually it was Talion who wanted to kill Sauron, Celebrimbor wanted to dominate him like any other orc that you have dominated in the game and serves you

@@la912 Celebrimbor probably had the idea in the back of his head. It grew with his power until power got to his head and he thought he could do it. I think a lot of Celebrimbor’s actions should be thought on a little more deeply, most notably with the fact that I have a hard time believing nothing was ever actually there between him and Talion before he left him, not to mention Talion expresses forgiveness for Celebrimbor in one of his quotes after taking Isildur’s ring to continue the fight. Also reminds me that I wish you could use a skin or something to give yourself back the Celebrimbor style and quotes.

@@la912 That is what happened with Isuldur, Celebrimbor tried to dominate him and make him his servant, Talion killed him instead, Celebrimbor got rid of him.

I mean tbf, if I watched my family die before me, and was killed myself, only to have air forced back into my lungs by an ancient warmongering elf, and be forced to single handedly hold back the forces of Mordor, I’d be pretty brooding and depressed as well. I mean, Talion actually cheered up when he reached Mina’s ithil, reunited with his people, only to watch it all burn down around him, like the black gate. Man’s been through some things

After the cutscene with meeting Litharial, they have these lines Talion: Now only the Tower and Black hand remain Celebrimbor: and their master

I know right? Eltariel is shit and very inaccurate to what elves are supposed to be like. I mean, the whole game is inaccurate, but they can make it right with Celebrimbor. He is the most interesting character in the game and very interesting in the lore (he never went evil in the lore)

Personally I would rather have it just about orcs/ureck hi have like a outlaw tribe or maybe a stoic orc version of Talion That you know rise up against Sauron and again have a special orc that’s kinda like Talion but chiller and allow me to have the gadgets that the orcs have, Machine hook, flame thrower, bombs ‘dual welding crossbows’ bowlers etc but really this is my opinion I’m sure the other people think otherwise so please I’d love to talk about what you want.

I’m more interested in a timeline where Talion manages to talk some sense into Celebrimbor and he realizes that the ring has twisted him into an evil tyrant.

Yeah, they would have won. But according to Shelob, they would've dominated middle earth just like Sauron. But thats the future Talion and Shelob stopped

but if you play the game Shelob sees a future where that happens, but Celebrimbor and Talion end up being a force just as bad

Honestly he showed himself to be no different to sauron in the end he still wanted to dominate gondor and all of middle earth as bruz said "bright lord dark lord same difference" .

And Talion would've lost his will. This Celebrimbor is power hungry

What are you implying?Celembribor is a legendary Elf, he was on par with Sauron back then and helped Sauron forge all those Rings, including the new one. Of course she would refer him as Elf Lord.

@@thedreamreader4840 i can see why you find it incongruous (celebrimbor and eltariel both being "elves", albeit from different tribes iirc), but i wonder if this is actually eltariel being cutting: celebrimbor _was_ once, long ago, an "elf lord"; not just elf that happened to be a lord, but a lord _of elves._ now all those that he commands are orcs. you might say that this still makes him a lord, and he is also still an elf (albeit a dead one… although elves are supposedly immortal, and if you make a man dead, are they still a man? or merely a corpse, or a spectre, or a revenant? so he is perhaps not even considered an "elf" any longer)… but eltariel also knows that celebrimbor holds the orcs in very, _very_ low regard (i don't think she likes them much, either), so this could just be a way of slyly reminding celebrimbor of what he once was, but is no longer. addressing him as "elf lord" could be mockery. then again, they are shown to continue speaking to each other in english (or i guess "westron"), when it could be imagined that they might prefer to converse in quenya. so it may just be an oversight by the developers. but i think it may be deliberate ("elf lord" is _obviously_ a strange way for an elf to refer to another elf, and it's not a name that talion is in the habit of using when talking to celebrimbor, iirc-so i don't think that this was e.g. originally a line by talion that was then given to eltariel without changes)

it's not "funny", really. "wry" or "arch" might be a better word-i think that this moment stands out as comic, more because of the contrast with celebrimbor's personality (he is almost always direct, sincere, and completely serious), rather than because it's a real thigh-slapper.
